Christmas Tree Ornaments
This holiday craft makes a festive decoration for any Christmas tree.
Materials:
- Small round balloon
- Water
- Paint
- Ribbon
- Flour
- Newspaper
- Glass beads or thematic stickers
- Glue
Blow up the balloon so that it is about the size of an adult's palm.
Cut newspaper into small, thin strips.
Make paper maché paste by adding 2 cups flour to 1 cup water.
Mix until smooth.
Dip newspaper strips into the paste, clearing off the excess.
Glue strips onto the balloon and keep covering it until it's about three layers thick.
Let dry thoroughly.
Next, pop the balloon and remove it.
Cover the hole with more newspaper.
Paint the ornament a solid colour - try something festive like gold or silver.
When dry, glue on glass beads or festive holiday stickers. You can cover the ball completely or create patterns.
Finally, glue a thick piece of ribbon onto the ornament and hang it from the tree.
