Crafts for Father’s Day
Long after the golf tees are lost and the ties have gone out of fashion, these homemade gifts will continue to reflect the joy of Father's Day.
I ? DAD Key Chain

- Key ring
- Leather cording
- Beads
- Alphabet beads
Cut a leather cord (or beading wire) about 7" long.
Tie a small loop at one end and attach it to a key ring.

Your child can also add alphabet and symbol beads to spell messages.
Tie a knot at the end of the cording to secure the beads in place.
Personalized Pencil/Pen Holder

- Empty frozen juice tin
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Construction paper
- Photo
- Permanent markers
Clean and wash a frozen juice tin.
Cut out shapes from construction paper.
Use Mod Podge to glue the shapes onto the can, creating a multi-coloured collage.
Make sure the can is entirely covered.
Have your child cut out photographs of him/herself or of the family.
Glue photos on the can using Mod Podge and then add words or phrases with permanent marker
Cover the entire can with a final coat of Mod Podge and let dry.
Golf Tee Paper Weight
Materials:
- Plaster of Paris
- Green and beige paint
- 1 golf tee
- Vaseline
- 1 small tin (tuna)
- Glue
- 1 golf ball
Clean and wash tin thoroughly (make sure there are no sharp edges).
Line the entire inside of the can with a thin layer of Vaseline.
Prepare the plaster of Paris as per the directions on the box.
Pour the plaster into the tin.
Let the plaster harden slightly, then gently press a golf tee into the top, about halfway in.
Let the plaster dry overnight.
Next, slide the plaster out and smooth any rough edges using a damp cloth.
When dry, paint the plaster. The bottom 2/3's can be beige to represent soil, the upper 1/3 and top surface, green to represent the green.
When the paint is dry, glue a golf ball onto the top of the tee.
Alternatively, you can press in fishing lures, matchbox cars, etc. depending on dad's interests.
