Wacky Snowman Christmas Craft
Bring on the festivities! This Christmas craft is sure to entertain your children and create a festive feel around the house.
Materials:
- Small black pom-poms
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Black, white, red and orange construction paper
- Orange pipe cleaner
- Ribbon
Cut three large circles (1-2" in diameter) from white construction paper and four smaller ones (½").
Make the snowman's face on a large circle. Glue on googly eyes and draw a mouth. Use orange construction paper to make the carrot nose.
Glue 3 black pompoms onto the second large circle. These will be the snowman's buttons.
Glue 1 more pompom button onto the third large circle.
Cut six ½" wide black construction paper strips and fold them accordion style, so that when opened it makes a paper spring.
Use two paper strips to connect the snowman's body.
Glue the remaining four strips to the smaller paper circles.
Next, glue one pair to the middle circle (as arms) and the other pair to the bottom circle (as legs).
Cut a black paper hat and glue it to the snowman's head.
Cut a "V" from red construction paper to make a scarf.
Finally, glue a ribbon loop to the back of the hat.
Hang the snowman from a tree, window latch or doorknob.
You can use the same technique to make a wacky Santa or Rudolph.
