Chickadee
A craft from the Crazy Crafts DVD Collection.
Materials:
- Styrofoam ball
- Paint
- Small Styrofoam ball
- 2 beads
- Pencil
- 2 pipe cleaners
- Toothpick
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Marker
Paint black cap on top and black stripe on each side of small Styrofoam ball for head (this is head).
Push bead into each side of head under black stripes for eyes.
Poke hole in front of head with pencil.
Bend small piece of pipe cleaner in half and push into hole for beak.
Attach head to body with toothpick.
Cut wing shape from folded construction paper and separate.
Draw feathers on wings with marker.
Tape toothpick to back of each wing.
Use toothpicks to attach wings to Styrofoam body.
Curl wings back slightly with your fingers.
Accordion-fold construction paper to make fan shape.
Cut off triangle at each end of fan, open up and cut out triangle at top.
Draw feathers on both sides with marker and attach toothpick at bottom.
Wrap tape around folded bottom to hold.
Stick tail toothpick in back of body.
Make feet by folding one pipe cleaner in half, then fold each end up and down.
Poke centre fold in bottom of body to attach feet.
