Dora Tabletop Christmas Tree
Create a Christmas Eve scene with Dora, Boots, and Swiper right on your table! Create this Christmas tree centerpiece with a cereal box, green paint, and decorations. Then add our Dora Christmas Carol paper dolls to the scene.
Supplies
Christmas Tree Template and Paper Dolls
Empty cereal box
Scissors
Ruler
Newspaper
Green acrylic paint or poster paint
Paintbrush
Glitter or green glitter paint
Sparkling gems (optional)
Craft glue
Puffy paints in assorted colors
Tape
Step 1
Print and cut out the Christmas tree template. Trace it to the front and back of an empty cereal box or other large cardboard you can find at home, and cut out the shapes. To keep the little hands busy, have your child draw the tree shape on cereal box and cut them out.
Step 2
From the top of one tree shape, draw a line down till about mid-height. From the middle bottom of the other tree shape, draw a line up till about mid-height. Make cuts along the lines.
Step 3
Cover your work station with a few layers of newspaper. Paint both tree shapes in green on one side first. While the paint dries, sprinkle on silver glitter. Once the paint has dried, do the same on the other side. As an alternative to green paint and glitter, use green glitter paint.
Step 4
Help your child decorate both tree shapes by gluing on sparkling gems or drawing polka dots, stars, and snowflakes.
Step 5
Print Dora Christmas Carol Paper Dolls and cut out all the images. Glue the front and back of the star image back to back with the un-cut tree top in between.
Step 6
With two tree shapes' notches facing each other, cross two shapes through the notches. Keep pushing both shapes toward each other until the end of the notches are met.
Step 7
Set the tree where your child likes to display it. Fold the bottom tab of the characters and tape them to the surface around the tree.
Craft tip
It can take considerable long for the paint to dry completely. Parents might consider painting on one side of the trees the night before and guide your kids to paint on the other side next day.
