Krispie Easter Bunny Treats

Here are some fun treats to keep your family hopping this Easter!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Easter bunny cookie cutters
  • Sugar cake decorations
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • Pastel or white frosting
  • Other candy decorations

Melt chocolate chips, corn syrup and butter in a sauce pan, over a low heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Remove from heat and add the Rice Krispies.

Stir until the cereal is evenly coated.

Next, press the mixture onto a lightly greased rectangular cookie sheet and chill slightly.

When chilled, use a cookie cutter to cut out individual Easter shaped treats.

Decorate each treat using frosting, sugar cake decorations (such as flowers, buttons, etc), sprinkles, gum drops, etc.

Alternatively, make one giant Easter treat by pressing the mixture into a lightly greased

Easter-themed cake tin and decorating accordingly.

Note: If you can’t find pastel frosting, simply make your own using white frosting and food colouring.

Note: These recipes are suitable to do with children four years and older. Please make sure that an adult handles all the heating components.
