Thawed dessert topping

Food colouring

Dissolve one pkg. (85 g) of lime jelly powder in 1½ cups boiling water.

Pour half into individual serving dishes and place in fridge to partially set. (Should make four small servings)

Whisk in one cup frozen (not thawed) Dessert Topping into remainder of jelly mix.

Remove serving containers from fridge and add jelly powder/dessert topping mix to serving containers.

Chill until completely set.

Add a few drops orange food colouring to thawed dessert topping and mix. Top each serving container with orange dessert topping.

Options : Use different food colourings or jelly powders to create spooky combinations. Add gummy worms to semi-set jelly powder for a creepy treat.

2 Chocolate Wafer Cookies

Chocolate Frosting

Mini Chocolate Chips or M&Ms

Black Lace Licorice

Spread the chocolate frosting on the flat side of each cookie.

Cut a piece of licorice into 8 pieces about 2 - 3 inches long. Stick the licorice on the frosting on one of the cookies so they look like the spider's legs sticking out (4 sticking out on each side).

Then put the other cookie, frosting side down on top of it to hold the "spider legs" in place.

Using the frosting as your "glue", add 2 eyes using the chocolate chips or M&Ms and enjoy!

1 recipe of oatmeal chocolate-chip cookie dough (this is enough for 2 jack-o’-lanterns)

Cookie decorations, including icing

A medium-sized metal bowl that is ovenproof, aluminum foil, a table knife, a small, heavy plastic bag, scissors

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Line the inside of the bowl with aluminum foil. Fold any extra aluminum foil over the edges. Cover the

inside of the bowl with a layer of dough a little more than 0.5 cm (1⁄4 in.) thick. Working from the bottom of the bowl, pat the dough in place. Smooth the top edge of the dough with the table knife and your fingers.

Using the table knife, cut out a jack-o’-lantern face from the dough.

Bake the dough in the bowl for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. If the edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil. Remove from the oven. Recut any bits of the face that have filled in — the bowl will be very

hot, so ask an adult to help you. Leave the jack-o’-lantern in the bowl to cool completely.

When cool, gently remove the jack-o’-lantern from the bowl, turn it over and peel off the aluminum foil.

Half fill the plastic bag with icing and snip off one corner. Pipe designs onto the jack-o’-lantern face or use the icing to glue decorations in place.

Options: Make a cookie bowl to hold candies, brownies or even more cookies. If youlike, decorate the outside and scallopthe edge of the bowl.
