Summer Safety Tips
There are always things that a parent can do in the summer to try to be on top of any situation that may arise.
Here are some tips:
- Always have a large supply of simple plastic bandages in the house or on a trip along with some gauze style bandages.
- If you are going to go out into the sun with your little one for an extended period of time, make sure to supply them with sunscreen screen and a hat.
- Too much exposed skin can give your tot a burn. If your little one does get a burn, be sure to have some sort of cold cream or ointment on supply to soothe their skin.
- If you are taking your child swimming, make sure that it is at a pool where there is always a lifeguard present. If it is at a private pool, then be sure to keep your eyes on your child at all times.
- Be sure to always take a bottle of water with you when you go out. Many times the biggest remedy for too much heat is having water present so that you and your little one can always hydrate yourselves.
- Dress appropriately. Summertime can be a time of great heat, but fast-approaching storm can make things all wet. Try to look at the weather before you venture out and dress your tot appropriately.
