Toopy And Binoo Cross-dressing Poll, Why I want to keep/remove this programme

One of the more contentious programmes on Treehouse.

So would we like to keep it??Why?

    Remove it?? Why? Religous/moral reasons.

Or have we just thought it was a children's programme on which we do not need to place an adult perspective?
I used to be such a sweet sweet thing

I'm not sure what worries me more: Toopy's propensity towards wearing women's clothing or the fact that he looks good in a dress...

Religion, frankly, has no place in the raising of children.

Religion is something you should be allowed to choose, not have forced upon you.

Re: Toopy And Binoo Cross-dressing Poll, Why I want to keep/remove this programme

We're slightly off topic here...but here's my thought on the matter:
Religion, for those who believe and have faith, has EVERYTHING to do with raising a child.  Please don't insult the way my family and others like mine raise our children.  If you decide not to raise your children with a belief system, that's your choice.  But respect others who think differently.

As for Toopy and Binoo and the cross-dressing...my granddaughter doesn't know what cross-dressing is and it isn't an issue for her.  She just thinks Toopy and Binoo are cute and she enjoys watching the cartoon.  It may be a little noisy sometimes, what with Toopy's incessant laughter and talking, but it's entertaining and she laughs.

My daughter and I want her to be happy, so if watching Toopy and Binoo does that, then great.  If it were immoral or lewd or questionable, then we wouldn't have it on.  But it's harmless.  Let the children enjoy it.  It's just a cartoon.

Do YOU know any cross-dressing mice with miniature cats as their friends?  I thought not.  So let's just see it for what it is - a cartoon.

My little girl is 19 months old and absolutely loves Toopy and Binoo. She cries when  its over and then I have to put on her movie. What I don't like is that it's a cross dressing mouse in love with a cat. But it keeps her happy.

Interesting thought...  Those who do not follow a religion will probably agree with your first statement.

However, those who follow a religion will use it as a guidance for the upbringing of their children. In my experience religion becomes a way of life, not something that u detach from after your weekly visit to Church (or your chosen house of worship).

Absolutely agree with your second statement, there should be no compulsion in religion.

I'm an atheist, so my children were not raised with religion. I also agree that religion should not be forced on anyone. But please be more sensitive and respectful to other's ways of raising their children, whether you agree with them or not.

I can't believe this is even a discussion. Our kids are going to meet all sorts of different people and taking it off the air is telling them that that kind of lifestyle is wrong.
I don't know why some people have to find a problem with everything . My daughter loves this show, and it's one of the only ones i can actually stand watching. I say keep it on the air.

It's a cartoon!  Who cares what gender Toopy and Binoo are or what they wear?  It's about friendship and silliness.  My daughter loves this show.
If you are such a homophobe that you are offended by a cartoon mouse wearing a dress and think it's going to "turn your kids gay" then you need to
educate yourself on homosexuality and perhaps open your mind a bit.  And if you can't do that, than change the channel.

I whole heartedly support happylulu's post!!

BTW... cross-dressing is not a "gay" indicator.

And I believe that what these two hilarious little characters are truly doing is referred to as "playing dress up".

The wording in the title of this poll "Cross-dressing" is in itself ridiculous not to mention completely inaccurate.

You want to remove a show?  How about that excruciatingly whiny lil twerp Caillou.
