Oh I'm shocked! Is your judgment based on Tellytubbies? Hardly the benchmark for British programming. There are a lot of quality British shows out there, so before you brand them all under the label of 'low budget programs' I suggest you check them out first...

    Exactly!

It's like me saying " If Caillou is the best represtive of  Canadian tv, it all must be equally as bad."

I know that there are a lot of good Canadian produced childrens tv as well as the ones I don't like. In the same way, there are lots of good, bad and indifferent Canadian tv shows for adults out there.

Its suce a shame that not all the good programmes make the journey across the pond. DD misses 'Peppa Pig', 'Balamory', 'Brum', 'Something special' and a few other of her favourite 'non-low budget programmes'!

No fair, you have emoticons! Can you tell me where they are on the post screen, please?

I still dont have any I'm afraid, I've been cheating and using the copy/paste technique, thought I needed to get the 'shocked'  msg across about the incorrect branding of all British Programmes, so I copied the emoticon from another post. I have the same problem as you, the emoticons come up on the reply screen right at the bottom, and then immediately go to emoticon heaven or something, cuz after that they are gone forever!

Ah yes. Good old copy/paste. I'm thinking of sorting out one of my old emoticon haunts and importing images from there.

It makes me laugh when some poster throw the
    Randon Poster:
This show's as bad as Teletubbies!!!!!111!!!

as an insult. Tubbies was a very innovative show at the time. I know i was in the first wave of parents and I still think it's a good show. DD1 loved it and dubbed videos where were she learnt some of her first French. DD2 was less bothered by it and DS didn't care for it at all.

We never really got into Boohbah. But we kinda like ITNG.

Ragdoll have made a lot of ohters shows too. It's a shame some of those have not been picked up. DD1 also liked Rosie and Jim.

Teletubbies have had a rough time both sides of the pond I think. Personally I'm not too fond of the show, but children all over have loved it. And I have no problems with DD watching it. Its a harmless show. A lot of parents were concerned that their children were not 'speaking' correctly thanx to the tubbies, but how long does that last? Its a nice colourful show with lots of repetition aimed at toddlers, and the tubbies video is always a good watch.

Ragdoll have made some great shows, Rosie and Jim was one of my nieces fav shows, as was Tots TV. DD loves Brum which is another great ragdoll prduction :)

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only parent who's disturbed by Treehouse's new lineup of shows...  This message board is great and all - but where's Treehouse in all of this?   Do they not reply or address any of our concerns?
I agree with many of the other parents that Treehouse used to be full of great shows that were entertaining AND educational...
NOW???  In the Night Garden???  I'm still convinced someone dreamt up this show while hallucinating on illegal substances!  What is the point of that show?  Fifi & The Flowerpot???  Those weird Koala Brothers??  REALLY!  Even my 2 1/2 year old asks me to change the channel...  He doesn't like any of the new shows.
We are the consumers - our opinion should matter.
Treehouse should also have the decency to answer us.  TREEHOUSE - parents aren't happy - the kids aren't happy...  Shouldn't your goal be to please your audience?

I am really disappointed in a few of the new shows as well.  My husband and I both think Yo Gabba Gabba is really creepy!!  That tall, pink one-eyed thing looks like, well, an adult type toy (we'll leave it at that).  I'd rather have my kids watch something like the Wonder Pets, the Backyardigans, Dora, Diego, etc.  We also dislike Fifi and the Flowertots.  When it comes on my son immediately says "no Fifi and the flowertots!!" I dont mind In the Night Garden, but I wish the characters actually spoke proper english.  My son keep repeating their infant-like gibberish and I have to remind him to speak like a big boy.  All in all, pretty disappointed in most of the new show and scheduling.

The opinions of parents who like the new shows and as importantly thier children should also be heard.

If some children are enjoying the new shows and don't miss the old ones , then part of the audience is pleased.

I have to say that my 22 month old is counting in Spanish and loves Dora.....she usually watches before bed,
but of course its not on anymore durning the week, and when its on the weekends she is napping......I really hope that thes comments and messages are taken seriously
and Tree House reconciders their line up and these "new shows" they have put on the air that  MANY seem NOT to enjoy, are taken OFF!!!....PLEASE put the old shows back at the same times.
we miss Wonder Pets, and Dora, and many others.....Thank goodness "Play with me Sesame and or "Elmo's World"  havent been remored!!!!

    Thank you

Some of us enjoy these shows. Dd likes the new shows. I hope that they keep them on, while you are entitled to your opinion I don't think it is fair to ask for the removal of the new shows I would never ask them to them to take off any show just because I didn't like it.

Indeed. If you look at some of the other threads you will see demands for the following pre-schedule change shows to be removed

Dora/Diego - encourages children to shout
    Franklin       - the stupid episode
Little Bear   - "dead" Lucy episode
    4 Square   - dancers clothes
Barney      - the name BJ causes giggling in an ex-pat poster
Toopy & Binoo   - cross dressing
    Dragon   -annoying voice over
    Backyardigans   -rudeness/ scariness
    Miss Spider      -scariness
Big Comfy Couch-Dislike of Ramona Darling as Lunnette
    Toy Castle   - generally scary
    Tipi Tales   - scary marrionettes.
    Angelina Ballerina

And some of the less popular shows

    Farzzell's world
    Deko Poko Friends
    Boblins.

From this list it would appear that there are very few shows that are acceptable to everyone. And this list was off the top of my head, I'm sure I can find that nearly every show currently on Treehouse has a similar reason for it to be removed.equally I could probably find reasons as to why the shows removed should not be returned.

I definitely agree that I hope Treehouse reads these posts, would be nice if they would write a reply to let us know they are reading!!!  But I can guarantee they will be getting a copy of the petition that I created.  I forgot about Blue's Clues that is an excellent show and would like to see that brought back.  I created the petition for the people in this forum and all treehouse viewers so please feel free to put your input on there!!!

Thought I would forward the response I received from Treehouse about this petition PLEASE READ::: Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion with us. Treehouse TV offers a variety of programs which vary in content and style in order to encompass the interests and fascinations of our youngest and oldest viewers. We hope you can respect that there is sometimes quite a difference between what a 2 year old may find entertaining and what a six year old would enjoy, so we try to cater to all interests and tastes. While we do continually strive to keep all of our viewers happy, as a national network, we make every effort to provide a varied schedule with something for everyone. Our Programming Department reviews hundreds of programs prior to making any decisions regarding our schedule and inventory. Although we do appreciate comments from our viewers and take them into consideration, there are many different factors that influence how our schedule is planned. For example, sometimes certain shows have contractual limitations, and we also have to adhere to our Conditions of Licence. Therefore, things like petitions generally do not have a large influence. That said, be assured that we have forwarded your information to our Programming Department for their consideration. Regards, Treehouse TV Viewer Relations Department

I am in agreement with all of you... the new shows are awful!
In the Night Garden is so so so horrible, I don't know how it was even produced.
My kids only watch a limited amount of tv a day, and usually before bed to wind down...
The Night Garden is on during this time, taking over this prime spot - and I will not allow my children to watch it - it is garbage!
Really, where did Diego go? Besides the fact that I have a crush on him, the show is entertaining, educational, and gets my kids moving!  And Dora... everyone knows all kids - boys and girls - love Dora, why take her off the air during the week?
These new shows are not educational, don't make any sense, and should be taken off the air!

Not " all of you" at all. Some of our children like the new shows.

Go Diego Go is still on , at 5.00 pm EST week-nights.

Tell me, do you only watch educational shows? Or do you watch non-educational shows?

I guess you're not in agreement with me either. :)
Cant believe this debate is still pretty heated... if the show is not to your liking, dont watch it, simple solution to hardly a problem. But demanding to take it off and labelling it as 'trash', 'filth', 'garbage' (or other such choice words) just cos you or your lil one doesnt like it hardly seems fair to the show, or those who actually enjoy the show and benefit from the purpose of the show itself.
