Um, yeah.  I was watching the show the other day and was wondering, if not mildly concerned, why Little Bear has no clothes on while the Grandpa Bear wears a complete suit with tie.  Am I the only one that sees a problem here?  It's bad enough Max and Ruby's parents aren't on the show, but what the heck is this about?

We don't have a problem with it. Dd likes the show.

Hes a bear and hes a kid so its OK. If it was a grownup or a human character then I would have an issue.

I don't like Max and Ruby at all! They should have some parents to explain to Ruby "Don't be bossy with Max!"

Its not just Little Bear, there are other characters in other shows who are unclothed.. Pablo from The Backyardigans springs to mind at the moment. All the others are dressed, but he just has a bow-tie to make do with usually  :)

I mean it's not like animals are normally dressed anyway.

Thats true... but then they dont talk either, or live in furnished houses, go to school, drive cars, bake cakes...   the list is endless...

OMG.  It's a cartoon.  I personally am a heck of a lot more concerned with a show educational value and what morals and lessons my children are being taught than whether or not an animal has clothes on.  As far as Max and Ruby, having no parents physically in the show (BTW, since you're so observant, have you noticed the family portrait on the wall in the living room) somewhat indicates to me that it's ok for children to be a little bit independent.  You're reading way to much into things.

Gee I really want to teach my children educational and moral values myself/ourselves rather than rely on the TV for it. Guess I'm old fashioned and rather Liberal that way!!

The children's lit I read as a child...We(appaerently) never had grown-ups ) or worse) parents looking out for us.....
