Give me a break!  I TOTALLY disagree with you & feel strongly that it's ridiculous that night garden should be deleted.  Treehouse people, please ignore those that don't like it.  Does everything have to be boring with Little Bear, Franklin & Diego?  Treehouse, thanks for doing a splendid job with the new shows.  I guess you can't please everyone, but there are tons of parents who support you & think the new shows are great, especially in the night garden.  Both my kids, ages 3 & 14 mnths, absolutely LOVE the show & it always gets them into their night routine smooothly.  My little guy wakes up asking when will night time come, so he can watch Night Garden again!  It's great because he loves the Wiggles too, so he is in his element!

    Thanks Treehouse!

    I couldn't disagree more!
My child, as well as many of my friends toddlers are going to bed between 7 and 8 pm.  This show completely relaxes them, not to mention myself.  Sure it is slow and quite and seems odd but the narrator's voice is clear and uses proper vocabulary unlike many other shows.  The whole point of it is to calm the child and prepare them for sleep.
TreeHouse is developed for young toddlers, if any show needs to get the boot it is Yo Gabba Gabba.  That show is like a bad trip.

I am so glad that I am not the only one that feels that way about In the Night Garden.  My daughter started to like it but is slowly getting bored.  At 730 it is her downtime before going to bed and she loves Franklin, Little Bear or Miss Spider during that time.  I feel that the timeslot should apply to 3-5 year olds with a little more of an understandable storyline. I say switch it back to one of the other shows and puty that one on earlier or much later.

The night garden is fantastic for your child’s imagination a very healthy important part of brain development.  Not only that but a recent poll shows 25% of pollsters children find it their child’s new favorite.  Although you may find it tedious to get through as an adult you should try looking at it through the eyes of a 2 or 3 year old.  My 2 year old twin girls absolutly adore this show and scream with delight when the Nincky Nonk (spelling?) breaks through the hedges.  They call Upsy Daisy Oopsy Daisy and ask for their tooth brushes when the Tombley Boo's (again spelling?) brush their teeth.  Although they cry when Iggle Piggle sails away asking where'd he go they also wind down and say 'I go to sleep soon too' when everyone is off to sleep.  I think it is the perfect wind down show for toddlers set at the perfect time!  PLEASE DON'T GET RID OF THE NIGHT GARDEN!!!

I've been listening to TMBG for over 10 years and think they are AWESOME and love the fact that they do both adult and childrens music. Alot of their adult music is suitable to listen to around children(and enjoyable for them) and alot of the childrens music is not that annoying and even enjoyable for adults(especially the stuff for MickeyMouse Clubhouse).

The negative reaction to this show is a shame. It is a charming, creative and well-designed production that reinforces simple concepts and emotions. The music, set design and puppeteering are really quite beautiful.

I agree, the show is aimed at 1-3 yolds. My 3 yo DS likes the show. DD2(6) understands it , while DD1 (10) doesn't understand it at all. I , of course , can fully undertsand all the levels the show is aiming for ;-)

    abracat:
It's too bad that people are so attached to the cheap animation of mass-market WalMart television. If you rely on tv to teach your children, or think that your child parroting Dora means that she is learning Spanish, you are seriously misguided.

Given that the school the girls go to teaches Spanish from K, exposure to DTE helped them with the sounds of Spanish. And given we are Anglophones in Qc,

How old is your daughter?  ITNG is designed for 1-3 yo.

Ds(3) is going to bed then , i wouldn't want him to be overly excited by  those shows.

In my 10 years of being a parent, I have never put my child/ren to bed after watching  a tv show. Normally we have a 10-30 min break of adult programming before the child/ren go to bed.

We completely agree. Franklin is great, as is Little Bear. Please bring them back to their previous timeslots. In the Night Garden is terrible, and offers no learning opportunities whatsoever. In addition, it is extremely annoying. As soon as it comes on, our television goes off.

We are huge fans of Treehouse, and think that it is usually a great channel for our child. We understand the need to try new shows, but please note all of this parent feedback regarding In the Night Garden, and put Franklin back to its previous timeslot asap.

    I COMPLETELY disagree!
ITNG is a cute little show that helps the little ones wind down before bedtime!
Not all shows have to be educational, and it's important for our little ones to just enjoy something fun and silly once in a while.
My DD is 18 m and LOVES this show.  I PVR it, and she knows she gets to watch it before bed, it helps her relax and quiet down and when the characters all get in bed at the end,
DD gets excited to go climb into bed as well.

I'd be very sad to see this show get cancelled!

please do not get rid of in the night garden.   my 2 year old loves it too.  it's actually part of our bedtime routine.  it relaxes him.... as per one of the previous posters, the narrator speaks proper english.  besides, you're only fooling yourself if you think tv is educational anyway.   my son and i also have fun singing the little songs and we also re-enact the characters going to sleep at bedtime.  it's a wonderful show, different from the rest.  please don't get rid of it.

I absolutely love this show, as does my wife and most importantly, our two year old daughter.  What I hope this show will stimulate is her imagination, something that seems sorrowly lacking in so many children of today.  Remembering back to my own childhood, the phrase "Lets Pretend" was as common as "I am Bored.

Strangely today, I never here kids saying "Let Pretend".  They just go onto their computers and enter a cyber world.  "In the Night Garden" is a beautifully lush, colourful and magical world of dreams and imagination.  Yes, our children need to learn, but they also need to entertainment and magic.  I don't need bears and turtles

to teach my daughter what is right and wrong.  That is my job.  I just need the help providing the magic.  Thank you BBC and Treehouse!!!

I have to agree with changing the time slot for this show. I have a 3.5 year old and he really doesn't like this show. pLease bring back Franklin/Little Bear!!!
