Here in EST it's on at 7.30 pm which is a much better time.

My 2 years old watches the show every night. What is not educative about counting to 10 for the tinny tiny porcupines, or learning to brush our teeth before going to bed. Yes, I liked Franklin better, but my son likes In the night better. And this  tv channel is for him.

I would like to add my voice to those who strongly disagree with the original post.  This show from the UK is brilliantly done and put together and to say there is no educational value in the show is rediculous.  I have two kids who would not want to watch anything else.  Besides Wiggle and Learn this is the only television show they watch.

leave it on!!!The only problem I have it's on sooo early.My four year old some how wakes herself up at 6:30 (or earlier)  just to watch this show.I keep telling her to sleep in and she says no she'll miss her show.so I say to keep it on but if Tree House can change the time its on it would make my life as a mother sooo much easier.Thanks

Franklin and Little Bear?  Really?  I am so tired of the sweet little messages in those show.  My daughter loves Night Garden!  She asks us to check her teeth every night just like the characters on the show.  I think it is a magical show and I don't think there needs to be a message in everything our kids watch and read.  Do you always read books for a purpose or sometimes is it just pure enjoyment?

Do we need to love every show on this channel?  No.  This show is a huge hit in England and there must be a reason for it.  Don't get rid of this show.  It is magical.  Let my child's imagination soar in this special world.

My husband and I and our three children love this show!!  It is wonderful just before bed!  In our own interpretation of the show, it is about a little one drifting off to sleep in his dream boat and we are able to share in his imagination through his dreams in the night garden!  It is just pure use of imagination.  Franklin and Little Bear are fine shows too, but you do have to be careful with them as well.  If you are not available to watch with your children they might interpret the teachings behind some episodes, as did my daughter when Franklin used the word "Stupid".  Of course educational shows are important when our little ones are in front of the TV but one that lets the imagination travel to places of pure fun and exploration...priceless!

Oh and as for the "passing gas noises", they are called "Toots" in our house and they are perfectly normal, and happen to every perfectly normal person and we just say "Excuse Me"....with no embarassment, maybe a little giggle, just like the Pinky Ponk!

One thing I have learned from my children is that life shouldn't be so serious!

You need to understand that its a childs show, and it has no meaning to the dropping of the pants..maybe you had a bad experience with the teletubbies or something but in the night garden is nothing like it! my daughter is a year old and loves the show it has tought her how to say yes and shake her head its something that she gets excited about and i wouldn't know what to do if they took in the night garden off the air...you don't like the show you know how to change the channel its that simple so don't complain about it when you can simply turn the station just like that!

Education is not only done by the tv shows our children watch but by us as parents.  Our jobs is to teach our kids basically everything that we know, so when it's time they can go into the world and have a good head on their sholders! You know, I personally don't like ITNG but my son loves it, ya sure it annoys me but I am not going to tick off my son just because I don't like something. As for some parents saying it makes their kids look like zombies well, have you actually watched your kids watch the tv, half the shows on do that to them, that zombie look is them learning, if you haven't already guessed it! Children are just like us, they have their preferences and they deserve their wishes as well! You know, I use to have the same view points as you parents when Dora first came on, I thought it was not a good show because it was teaching a child to speak spanish before english(or so I thought). Now, I sit down and watch it with my son and we enjoy the time together, he also like Diego; my point is just because you have an issue with something doesn't mean that you hve to involve your kids with it!  Kids don't always need to watch somethiing that has education all the time!!  In all reality, when was the last time you picked up a text book so you could learn? If you don't like the show, do something else, treehouse is a place for variety and change, and to be honest with you I am happy that they have added new shows!!!

KEEP In The Night Garden... my son watches it just before bed... the Go to Sleep Makka Pakka really gets him settled down and ready for bed... soft narrator voice, counting... he loves it.

Frankilin is awesome but we no have a nightly routine that includes Night Garden

In all reality, when was the last time you picked up a text book so you could learn?

Err... I just finished The Guns Of August and am about to start The Great War ( both about WWI) and then I'm going to read The War Of The Roses and 2 different biography of Henry VIII's wives.

I must say I strongly disagree. Not everything we expose your children to needs to be 100% educational, Kids need to have just plain old fun as well.
My daughter loves to watch this program while she plays with her father and I.
She interacts with the characters and the narrorator
I think that if you prefer not to let your child watch this program then you have the option of putting a favorite dvd on for your child or turning the tele off to have quality time with your child.
