I must say that I love this show. It makes my little boys eyes light up and he gets the biggest smile on his face as soon as it comes on! I feel that this show is way better then some of the other shows that are on treehouse and it helps get children ready for bed. I fell this show is wa better then the Teletubbies were, there is more to it then tubbie custard! I do not understand what peoples problems are with the show please let me no what the big deal is with it? I feel this show is good for children and you need to remember it is not ment for Adults that is why you have a big problem with it!!!

I agree, the show teaches children nothing except how to speak like weird little creatures that seem to kiss and hug alot. Other than the  naration on the show there is no other audible language, it dosn't teach kids anything.  It is exactly like the Telletubies and that show was horrible, my nephews both watched it and to this day cannot speak properly(not totally the show's falt, but I'm sure it didn't help).  There are much better shows that could take up in the night garden's time slot, anything that speaks a proper language would be perfect.

Franklin and Little bear as very much alike, and I find them rather boring. My granddaughter likes them but also likes ITNG. I had no clue why until I watched her with the characters more closely.

Interaction. Colours, more realistic movement than cartoons. Iggle Piggle cracks kids up.

Now try saying Ninky Nonk, Pinky Ponk, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Tombliboos, Makka Pakka, and Pontipines without enunciating. You can't.

Elocution doesn't seem popular in public schools, the english language as a whole has become more a bi-product than an actual goal.

I'm all for anything that helps kids communicate more effectively, no matter how goofy it looks or sounds to me. Makes my job easier.

I have to disagree with everyone who says this show is not educational.  If you look at the target audience, it aims at 6 months and up.  All the weird names may be gibberish to us, but it teaches all sorts of new sounds and repeats them over and over for them. Makka Pakka.. most babies start with the easy consonants ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba.. even in just saying the name they are practicing P and K.. again with Iggle Piggle, G and P again.  Everything is done in repetition and rhyme during each and every episode and although it may not be very entertaining to us, it really does help our little ones develop and learn speech patterns.  They also learn up, down, behind, in, out.. etc.  Counting from 1-10.  It has bright colours and high contrast and all sorts of funny noises to draw/keep their attention.  If our kids are at the walking, jumping about stage, they can follow along with each characters' dance, getting them to move about and gain balance and mobility.  The songs, rhymes and stories are all short, which is where our children's attention spans are at.  It may not seem educational at first glance, but remember, our children come into this world knowing absolutely nothing and In The Night Garden helps to teach the very basic foundations.

Do not remove this brillant program from Treehouse. My daughter absolutely loves this program and i love watching my daughter smile and dance and laugh along with the characters. This program has never advertised itself as a teaching program, but what it does teach the little ones is that everyone goes to sleep and they do this quietly and everyone enjoys a good bedtime story.
So if you don't like this program turn the tv off and read your little ones a story instead.

    Keep In the Night Garden

My kids LOVE this show.  They literally drop what they are playing with and run for the TV when it comes on.  I personally do not care if it's educational or not.  I take it upon myself to educate my kids so the odd TV show like this really does not hurt them.  I don't know what my kids see in it myself, but to them its a show stopper and if they like it, then I am okay with that.

My kids dance, they act it out and it also helps them simmer down for the night.  So I think its a great show.  My kids are 20 months and 3yrs and they just can't get enough of it.  I am sure there are kids that don't like it, but I am sure there are plenty of kids that dislike shows like Franklin, Little Bear and the rest of the shows that are on the program list.   If you don't find it educational or you don't like it then do something else with your kids.  This one is on my auto tune list on my TV and that's where its going to stay as long as this program is on the air.  But I will admit, it's creepy.  Not as creepy as the Tipi Tales, but it's definitely a close second in my books.  =)

My little girl is 10 months old and loves this show.  It you want something educational, here's an idea, turn off the TV and read your kid a book!  Or better yet, go outside and introduce them to nature!  When you watch TV, is it purely for education?  I doubt it.  If you don't like the show, change the channel, or turn off the TV.  Don't ruin it for the rest of the children who love it.
