Re: IN THE NIGHT GARDEN GIVE IT A CHANCE

My daughter loves In The Night Garden. Shes 10 months old and actually watches the show from beginning to end. (which is a nice break for a new, single parent.)
    Give it a chance!

I don't usually respond to these things but in this case I feel a need to do so.  My son is 20 months old and LOVES this show,
we sit together and he names the different characters as they come on.  He does Iggle Piggle's little dance and when the
announcer says it's time to go, he gets off the couch and heads to bed.  It's just wonderfull.  Give it a chance.

I feel In the Night Garden is a good show for children. It helps them wind down before bed and also encourages imgainitive play. The show also teaches children memory skills and gives them songs they can sing and dance to. I think that if parents have such a  huge problem with this show being uneducational and pointless, their children shouldn't be watching t.v in the first place. Maybe these parents who have an issue with this show should be reading their children a book when In the Night Garden airs. As a parent, I know that I don't watch shows I dont like. I simply change the channel or turn the tv off. Maybe the complaining parents should do the same.

My 14 month old son LOVES the show. Hes been watching it for 6 months now. Its his favortive show. Iggle piggle is his fav. Every time the show comes on he runs into the living room, and will watch, dance and sing. Ive never seen him so into a show before. He likes watching the big comfy couch, even that show he loses interest in. But night garden, he never leaves the tv until its over. I would be so upset if it was taken off the air. I honestly didnt like the show when I first seen it. I thought it was too much like tele tubbies. So I didnt really let him watch it. But as time went on, he fell in love with the show, so I gave it chance. And now I look forward to watching it with him. For his 1st birthday, he got all 3 talking plush characters. When its time he grabs his iggle piggle and sways side to side. He carrys those plush dolls around all the time. I believe all those parents out there that are against the show...should really just relax. Like many others have said, change the channel, read a book with your child. TV is a source of entertainment. If a child can learn something from it, then thats a bonus. But its not ment for that. Its a chance to sit back and relax. Thats exactly what night garden does for my son. Since its on at 530 (mountain time) its much to early to put him to bed, but he does wind down for the rest of the night. Like I have said before, I would very upset to see it go.

i think it's very selfish that the parents of older children or parents who do not understand the show would lobby to have it taken of the air as they have. it's the only show my daughter realy likes and the only one i can use to calm her down before bed. she carries around an iggle piggle doll around with her everywhere and if the show was no longer on she would be very upset. there are shows on tree house that i do not like such as Barny but i know other parents children enjoy it and would never ask to have it shut of the air

I would like to say you hit it right on the mark. This programming is not to please the adults, but to entertain the children. My 21 month old son loves this show.We watch it every night, and I think the whole point to this show is getting their imaginations to work.Keep up the fight for In The Night Garden.

My daughter is 2 yrs old and this is her favourite show. If Treehouse listens to the small minortiy that don't like INTNG  and takes it from their program schedule I would be VERY disapointed. This show has been part of my daughters routine since it first appeared. . She doesn't watch much TV as I perfer to read to her this is one of the very few shows I allow her to watch. My husband and I enjoy watching the show along with her. I feel it stimulates her imagination which is important to me as a parent. She loves this show so much that she now has many of the books as well.As many other posters have said that this show is not for parents and that people must keep in mind that it was designed for toddlers not a child who is older. The age that would this show would appeal to would be a 1-3 mostly. That's why Treehouse has other programs that appeal to older children and if someone or their child doesn't like the show then turn it off that is their right. Please as a parent of a little one who loves this show PLEASE keep it as part of the Treehouse Tv schedule.

My son absolutely LOVES this show, he also loves Teletubbies for those TT haters out there.
Just because some kids don't like it does not  mean these shows are worthless and should be cancelled.
In my sons case, these shows are helping him learn appropriate social interaction non-verbally.
This is especially hard for him, as he is mildly autistic, so has delayed speech.
Many kids with delayed speech need shows like these to help them achieve behavioural advancement.

If other people's kids are beyond this point, it doesn't mean the programming is worthless.

Treehouse is not here ONLY for your kids, it's for EVERYONE'S kids.  When they develop beyond the programming at Treehouse,
it's time for  parents need to find developmentally appropriate entertainment, not take programming away from other/younger kids.
