    Programming Changes

    Dear Treehouse,
My wife and I are very appreciative of Treehouse as it provides a variety of great shows for our 3.5 year old boy.  Typically we don't watch TV during the day, but before bed we all cuddle up on the couch and watch a few shows and have a snack, it seems to calm him down and he's ready for bed.  We used to watch Franklin, then Little Bear; two great shows for their good-natured themes and their calmness (good winding down stuff).  We are sorry to say however that the changes you have made in your programming seems to have disrupted that - we find the Night Garden not too bad (although it is a little strange) but the Wiggles at 8:30 seems a little too stimulating and gets him wound up again.  We understand that you have to do what you have to do to run a TV station, this is simply our opinion and wanted you to know.
    Many thanks,

    Welcome to the boards!

It's refreshing to see a first time poster who is not here just to complain and demand that something they specifically don't like be removed from the channel immediately or else the moon will crumble and M&M's will melt in our hand (not in our mouth!)

I respect that if people do not necessarily like something in the schedule, be it programming or the time something is specifically on, it is expressed in a mature fashion, rather than just a simple "its junk" or "take it off the air".

You have probably been through these boards and read a lot of things, both positive and negative.

At this point, almost a month after the programming changes,  it looks like things may be calming down a bit, which is nice.  Maybe these shows have had a chance to show what they are all about, and the naysayers have had a chance to actually see what they expressed concern about, and seen that it really isn't as bad as they originally hoped.

I think the new shows are great!

But have to agree that having the Wiggles on after In the Night Garden doesn't go well with the motivation of the Night Garden to unwind and relax.

I totally agree and was talking to another mom those 2 shows were great for before bed franklin and little bear but wiggles they both don't like at all and before bed is not a good time slot maybe in the morning when they are awake a bit more
it was our routine unwind time to watch those 2 shows and than off to bed please change it back soon please

Your kid likes the old schedule, my kids like the new schedule.

    A broadcaster can't please everyone.

Which is why we have speciality channels. I don't expect CBC to show back-to-back episodes of Star Trek but it is a reasonable expectation for Space network. Space brings in new shows as well though which I may or may not like.

I want Treehouse to show a selection of shows for the toddler and pre-school crowd.I accept there will be some shows we/I like in the same way there are shows we/I dislike . This shouldn't stop Treehouse bringing in new shows, I encourage that.

I feel that pour children would be short-changed by showing a (rather small) handful of shows that every-one sort of likes.
