A snail could do things faster!

I have a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old, and my 5 yr old is soooo slow at eating and making decisions like what clothes to wear. it is almost like she is going backwards in development instead of forwards. She use to be so independent, still is when it comes to the difficult things that the average child would need help in but it is the simplest tasks that she is slower than a snail and always makes us late! (eating, getting dressed, making a decision of what to wear, and getting ready for school is very frustrating!!)
I am just lost on anymore ideas.

DOSE ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS, OR ADVISE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Perhaps you could encourage her to lay out all her school clothes the night before so that you are not late in the mornings..
Talk to her about her times... and maybe get a sand timer (you should be able to get them for 1 min, 3 mins, 5mins etc) and get her to time herself, and gradually see if she can do all the activities she is slow in much faster - beat the timer.... She can set targets for herself, and improve on her times. Make it a fun activity, and maybe reward her with each improvement. Doesnt have to be something expensive.. can be just a trip to the park or making her favorite desert etc.
Im sure she will enjoy improving her times if its made into an fun activity.. you can get the whole family involved in it so she doesnt feel like she is being targetted.
    hope it helps :)

    My first thought too.

It sounds like she is a bit overwhelmed too.

I used to be such a sweet sweet thing
Till they gotta hold of me.

My daughter is 3 and is the slowest eater I have ever seen! It took her an hour to eat 3/4 of a sandwich today, I think that it is just an age thing.
