Man, theres definately something about the new shows, esp that ITNG!

In this day in age, life has moved up a couple of gears  and everyone is extremely busy... add a number of kids to that equation, and you really need to plan in some time to breathe...

Just a quick note to everyone still harping on the "no educational value" soap box.

Which cartoons did you watch as a kid? Sesame Street? Bugs Bunny? Roadrunner?

Sesame Street was considered by those in early childhood education to be trash television. And I learned a lot from Bugs Bunny - that you can survive having an anvil dropped on your head. That if you make a wrong turn at  Albuquerque, you will end up having a wacky adventure and all the best made products came from a company called Acme.

If the kids enjoy the show, let them enjoy it, as kids.

If it wasn`t for the fact your kids don`t like Backyardigans or 4 square, i`d  think we shared children!

My 2 year old son loves In The Night Garden and Yo Gabba Gabba.  These two shows captures his attention like no other shows (with exception to "The Wiggles" DVD's). I see no harm in my son enjoying himself. I don't feel by his watching the above shows will hinder his development in any way. Being a child is all about having fun and learning.

    Re: Upset with Treehouse

See, what I think most ppl are forgetting is that Treehouse caters to kids 0-6. Not EVERY kid from 0-6, but simply children that fall between those ages. I myself am not at all a fan of ITNG (but I do like Yo Gabba Gabba!! lol), but I do understand that that show is not made for the older kids. Think of Baby Einstein...I mean, would you get your 6 year old to watch that? Not only watch that, but then COMPLAIN about how it's not educational, and just plain nonsense?? No you wouldn't. Just like you shouldn't expect every show on Treehouse to cater to all of your children. ITNG is babble for a reason. It caters to the children who are like 0-12 months or so. Those who DO learn from hearing a bunch of weird different noises and sounds. When you're playing with your 2 month old, you make funny sounds, and make up words and whatever. This show is doing the same things.
And Yo Gabba Gabba is just simple show that also caters to the younger crowd. It sends the message "don't bite your friends" "try it, you'll like", "be nice to everyone, and you will have some friends"...OBVIOUSLY that's not intended for older kids. So why are ppl getting so bent out of shape over it?

I think Treehouse deserves more credit than what ppl are giving it. For one, if your kid doesn't like the show, then turn it off. Don't sit there and send these outraged letters to Treehouse about their "horrible" shows. So what if there's a show on here that you and your child doesn't like. Do you like every show on Fox? Do you honestly expect everyshow on one station to cater to YOU and YOUR children?
    Come on!

While I agree with the rest of your post, I don't think it's fair to stop people sending letters about shows they don't like. They have a right to do that , just as I have the right to writye in support of these shows.

Everyone should have the choice to voice their concerns, or dislike about things they are not partial too.

There are many shows on TV which I dislike with a vengence -  however, I just choose to change the channel, its easier and less time consuming... :)

Much easier, especially when kiddos don't like the show.
