I was just glad to see new episodes of Four Square and my son still loves it. Maybe the other castmates moved on to bigger and better things. Give it a chance guys.

I have to say the new fours squares really disapoints for the most part:
*Captain Hup (I thought it was Hup not Hop...) and his crew had a lot more enthiasum for that section and the new team just seem to be really lacking, I think the new captain seems to not have the leadership of him either.
*The new four tones are not too bad but the male voice did add a bit extra to it and the puppets are not as sqweaky now
*The new poet lady is not bad and the one girl was ok, but the old lady looked a bit crazy which actually seemed to work for that section and the old girls were much better then the boy I saw yeaterday.
* The B team however are great, the experience they bring to their bit along with the extra maturaty has actually improved their spot a lot.

Bringing in new faces is not bad, but unfortunately I think it has not worked in this case and the experience brought over by the old cast is better in this case. The new four squares (except for the beat team) has just lost its appeal for me and my kids.

Both my 2 year old (well shes 3 in a few months) and my 11 month old both have shown a dislike for what used to be a show they loved to watch and clap along to, and interact with. Only the beat team still interests them. I know of other children who have also shown a dislike for the new crew.

My son (2) still watches Four Square but he doesn't RUN to the TV like he used to when Captain Hop was leading that team. He doesn't seem to be too interested in the movements anymore either. For the longest time he would run around saying..."bazoom zoom....bonzaai....hop hop hop hop!" It's cute.

It seems to me that the segment with with Captain Hopette has s-l-o-w-e-d down a bit. Like she talks slower or that the movements are done slower. Does anyone else feel this? Maybe it's just me. Also, why the need for the backup music to this portion? Captain Hop didn't need it? I am glad to see that Bianca is still on the team!

I don't mind the 4 tones, but I do admit that I miss the male singer. LOL about Helen's greasy hair....I noticed that too. The beat team still rocks!

It doesnt matter to me either way.

I can't say I like the four square nor my daughter. My husband and I think that they should put them in clothes real clothes,. that's my problem

I think I liked Captain Hop better, too; he was pretty funny. Captain Hopette just doesn't seem right.

I forgot to add that while it surprises me that the cast for 4 Square changed like the snapping of fingers, I don't see the show regularly, so it doesn't matter a whole lot to me personally whether Captain Hop or Captain Hopette is there.

I agree, the new members aren't very good at all. My 2 1/2 year old son hates it now. Even though Helen had greasy hair, she had a lot more enthusiasm than the girl now and the kid sits there with a dazed look on his face. Please bring back Helen and Lanaya. We still enjoy the Beat Team.

My daughter used to love this show. I used to laugh because she would drop everything and run when the theme song came on. Now it seems she cannot run away from the TV fast enough. She really enjoyed learning poems with Helen.

I have tried to teach her that change is a part of life and some things just won't be the same forever. She has done pretty good so far but I think this is too much for her. She refuses to watch the show now.

I wasn't expecting such a response from everyone on this topic but I am glad for the support. It has been a couple of weeks now and to be honest I still can't accept the new cast and my son of now 20 months will only really watch the beat team and then gets bored with the rest of it. he used to sit with fascination through the whole show so that to me says something Tree Girl! I know you want positive feedback which is understandable in your spot but if so many other parents and children feel the same maybe it would be best just to stick to the old ones for now and see if there is any other solution to the casting situation. I think us parents could do a better job acting on this show as we know what it is all about however for me to wear blue spandex it would have to pay a fair bit. LOL! Just trying to lighten up the issue. Seriously, I think all of us parents appreciate the attempt in new four square episodes based on the excited response when we heard they were coming but sometimes out with the old and in with the new isn't the best! Thanks for trying though! Please show an old one of Captain Hop!!!

i mean what happend the new actors stink and there soo slow , i mean my moms baby doesnt even watch the show no more because he likes the old actors. 2:10 am / est/pst on t.v the old charactors were on .. he was soo happy! but BRING BACK THE OLD ACTORS FOR 4 SQUARE!!!!

There was an old one on today! Captain Hop and the old gang! My husband actually cheered when it came on, we're geeks. I hope they get the old gang back, give Captain Hop a raise! Get him back!

Wow, I have to say I don't totally agree with the serious backlash over the new episodes. I don't particularly care about the poetry section at any time. The new girl is fine. The best part about that segment is poetry by someone other than Dennis Lee - HOORAY!! The Beat Team is awesome as usual. As for the Four Tones, I absolutely miss that fabulous baritone. Do the girls pull it off? Definitely! Sadly, Captain Hopette is a little lackluster to me compared to Captain Hop. I still enjoy seeing the new episodes, it's just taking a little getting used to.

That being said, I still really enjoy Four Square. My daughter still likes Four Square. Because of the changes, I have gotten into it more with her and dance around and interact with her a little more (20 months old) to show her that we can still have fun when the Four Square theme song comes on. Has she noticed the changes? Most likely. Do we still have fun? YOU BET!!

Your child takes the queue from you. If you have fun, they will have fun. Make it interesting for them. Change is not a bad thing!

BRING BACK CAPTAIN HOP............... Don't get me wrong this is hte only time my little girl (15 months) sits still, but Captian Hop had good energy.

Thank goggness for the B team........they are keeping with what we all know!
