I have twin girls who are 16 months, and today they watched the start of 4 squares, and then went on to do something else. Usually they sit and watch the whole show. Captain Hup..... why is he gone???? They only thing about the show is the Theme song, they still like that.

My kids wont watch anything but the beat team now.

At first I wasn't to keen on the new cast. But now that I'm used to em I really like four squares the way it is and so does my son! People move on in life to better things..like probably most the old cast did.

* Missing Captain Hop * and LUTZU.

My son (14mths) stopped watching the new 4 Squares when they introduced the new Hoppettes, and the replacement of some of the Fourtones

He'll still stand by and watch the Beat Team, but as soon as the new Cap't Hoppett comes , he walks away.

I could tell he's noticing as well, the first episode where there was a change, he looked at me like "hey theres something wrong here"
They just dont have the same energy, or comical"ness " to them, as the old ones did.
Since my son was 6 months old, I could sing to him, a small version of the song, ""roll call....LUTZU, KRACOVICH.".etc, and he would smile, widely.

now it just doesnt have the same ring to it...

BRING BACK CAPTAIN HOP please.!

i love the show. it is different w/o capt. hop and the originals but my son still loves the singing and actions. I still sing the original song for cpt. hop and crew at bathtime so to him it hasn't changed - he's 2.5 yrs.

It is very interesting how this 15 minute show has such a hold on people. I can see people are very passionate about how they feel regarding the new actors. When I first saw this show I thought it was kind of weird but then I noticed how absolutely entertained my baby girl was by it. She is just 13 months and as far as I can tell loves the show now just as much as the older ones. Unfortunately, it is her mommy who is sad about the cast changes especially the much loved Captain Hop! There was something very special about him. His facial expressions, his cool voice....ya he was 'Super Good'!! I am guessing that he has indeed moved on to bigger and better things and that he was not just canned by the show. We will still watch it in our house but I have to admit I am happier when I see it is an old rerun rather than a new episode!! Still a great colourful show that gets kids moving, singing and rhyming!!

my daughter runs down the hall in her walker when she hears 4 squares on but not now they are never on anymore. Captain Hupette has to go.And same with Paie and her bad kids. The poems are stupid but my daughter still likes them. BRING THEM BACK BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny... My son just really got into this show in the past few months, and I was under the impression that Captain Hup was new and Hupette was a thing of the past... I found this disappointing because it made more sense to me to have a balance of males and females. I guess it's all about what you're used to.

My son on the other hand doesn't care who's running the show. He just loves Four Square.

My son & I had also just began watching this show recently, and I was under the impression that Paie, Hopette, etc.. were the original cast members. I was disappointed when they began playing back the older shows. I think it really is just what you're accustomed to. I have a feeling everyone would be saying the exact same thing, if Captain Hop was the one replacing Captain Hoppette.

My son and I love Captain Hupette, Pipa, Rufus, and Motito.  I personally can't stand listening to Captain Hup., and my son prefers Hupette as well.  She's more lyrical, and has a friendlier face.  The episodes with Captain Hup also have no piano playing when the dancers do their moves.  The show with Captain Hup moves too quickly, and I find is very dry.
