I agree with the other moms, the new Loonette just does not have the same enthusiasm as Alyson Court had,

I noticed it at first while washing dishes, as my 15 month old was watching the Big Comfy Couch, that something was odd about Loonette's voice, but when I peered around to look, and had to take a double look, when I saw it wasn't the same face, I was in shock, I sat and watched the show with my lil guy, and wasn't impressed at all...
The new Loonette, is boring, her voice sounds like she has a plugged nose, and she doesn't keep the attention of my son, as Alyson Court did

Do the producer really think that kids watching the Big Comfy Couch, will end up saying, "gesh, Loonette sure is getting old" I DONT think so.

I seriously hope they reconsider and bring back Alyson Court as Loonette, or find someone else that is more suitable for the job.

PS: why is BEDHEAD always pulling his shirt down? IF it's too darn short and he don't want his privates to show through his skin tight shorts, GIVE the guy a longer SHIRT!

i agree no kids gonna care how old she looks, but it was her choice to leave the show, sadly. I really wish she would come back I never noticed the whole thing about major beadhead i'll make sure to keep an eye out for it when were watching it tonight

There was a recent episode of Big Comfy Couch, with the new actress and during the credits they had a listing In Memory of... does anyone recall what was the name? My brother in law claims it was Alyson Court(the former Loonette), I claim that he is wrong.
I also agree with the other mothers regarding the new Loonette, I really cant stand her voice. Very whining!!

I don't like the Loonette because she doesn't smile near as much as Alyson did. Even on the theme song she doens't seem happy.

I've noticed that they've changed the camera angle for the clock stretch though..and the mat looks really tiny. Its the camera angle or a taller girl than the old Loonette. It looks like she hardly has the room to stretch.

Alyson Court was the best Loonet the clown, But we should give this new one a chance to prove herself...after all its our kids who like the shows right.....I mean I love to watch the Backyardigans, and oh how I love Thomas the tank engine with his cute little faces on the cars, oh Sir toppem hat is so funny, what with his big voice and ...uhh......well thats right this is for our kids only, Anywas lets give the new one a chnace, after all the new guy on Blues clues wasn't really liked when he took over for Jim I think was his name but now I really enjoy him. OK that was my 2 cents!!!

I don't mind the new Loonette, just for me the show isn't as good as it was. I don't know..she doesn't seem to smile very much.

i agree the new Loonette is not as fun and she doesnt fit the role as well as the old one. why do they have to change characters on kids shows. the kids get used to seeinga certin face then when it changes they ask what happened? i dont like it.

The new Loonette doesn't seem comfortable in the role. She speaks really slowly like she's talking down to the audience. The entire cast seems to have been changed somewhat, mostly appearance. Major Bedhead now wears boxers not bicycle shorts,& Granny Garbonzo looks less like a gypsy and the accent is less thick. The in memory is for Karen Ohland I think she was a producer or educational consultant or something. I'm not a fan of the new "Couch" as my 26 month old calls it but he still perks up when he hears the theme. Good enough for me.

I agree with everyone. The new one has a whiny voice and is not as enthusiastic. My 13 yr old said he doesn't like he either. Bring the old one back. The kids don't care how old she is. She is unreplaceable. My little one who is 3 does not stay sitting to watch since this new Loonette has appeared. THEY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

my daughter and i where wacthing it the big comfy couch the ther day and she started screaming when i asked why she said something was wrong with loonete and that her voice is different.she had wacthed it so much she could tell the difference.and now when ever it is on she always changes the channel.

I really like Alyson Court.U are all right,the new Lounette doesnt have the same spunk.I really dont like her. Its not the same

As for Alyson Court - I think she did a GREAT job playing the character but she's 33 years old now. Immagine how big the couch would have to be to make her look like a little girl?

I think Ramona Gilmour-Darling will be a great Loonette too - just give her a chanse to prove herself. Hey .. it's a lot better start to their 10th season than to say they are cancelling the show!

Grandpa's Garden <which was narrated by Ernie Coombs AKA Mr Dressup>
was taken over by his son when Mr Coombs passed away (side note - did ya know Alyson Court was part of the Mr Dressup cast from 84-94 as Herself)

Wow I just notiiced the other day that it was a new Loonette. The new Loonette sounds so fake I hope thats its just because shes adjusting to the show. I like the new part of the show where they have children singing. I think that was a good thing to add to the show.
