I still think that the new Loonette acts fakey. Like someone had said she acts like she is on drugs are something. She is like she is in slow mo....if you know what I mean, and those Dust Bunnies are sooooooooo funny.

Alyson is doing voice work, eg Dahlia in Skyland and Terri Cloth in Garbage Pail Kids. The money is probably waaaaay better, and she doesn't have to tidy up after herself every day.

[FONT=Times][COLOR=purple] I really hope that Alyson Court will return to the couch someday soon. My daughter and I miss her very much, she is definitly better than the new Loonette.

My two yr old daughter and I went to see The Big Comfy Couch this past summer. It was an hour show. First thing I thought was wow Loonette's voice doesn't seem to be grating on my nerves as it usually does. My 12 yr old who was dragged along commented on Loonette being friendlier and singing better. A week or so later my husband commented that they had changed the Actress on the TV program. It was then that we realized the Alyson was no longer playing Loonette. Frankly, I find the dust bunnies to be the only entertaining aspect of the show.

As to the comments of the new Loonette being stiff and and slowmo....well she did an excellant job on her live performance. I also think it is great that they are showing kids in parts of the shows. My daughter loves watching other kids dancing, playing and singing.

Hi there.. I must say I agree with mostly everyone else, I prefer Allison as well, but I have to say.. My son is 7 yrs old and went without tv for over 2 yrs. He used to watch BCC when we had TH before.. I just recently got cable again, and my son's favorite channel is TreeHouse.. .. which I'm glad because there are alot of good shows that my son loves to watch even if they are more for younger kids. We were watching BCC every night at 9pm then it was time to go to bed. Everytime it was Allison's episodes.. then one night I noticed something strange. The voice was different (I too think she talks very slow), and the face was different. I didn't say anything and my son didn't notice.. at first. Then he said to me.. "something's wrong".. I said what? (I say what alot, my son tends to mumble and talk low alot..lol) then he said, Loonette is different. And I said Yes, she is.. do you like this one though? He said I don't know. Then after the show was over he said he liked the old one better. So everytime BCC comes on at night if it's Allison he cheers
I think the new Loonette is ok, there are some nice changes.. I agreed about Bedhead's shorts.. much better than the spandex..lol. But the one song they keep singing is the "Clowntown" song.. "clowntown, clowntown, we are going to clowntown, clowntown, clowntown.. here we come!".. it's annoying. And I disagree with some people.. Allison's loonette DID go to clowntown.. I'm sure I seen her go a couple of times. But I like the Big Cough scenes with Molly better than Clowntown. Just my opinion.. If they do decided to recast Loonette, they can't really do any worse than Ramona.. (or could they... )

The old loonette was wayyyyy better than this new one on T.V
The old loonette was more lively and entertaining than the new one.
Nobody in my family is liking the new loonette, for my oppinion its dull and boring watching the new loonette. My daughter says " Eww ..the new loonette is on" and then she turns off the t.v. So I'd REALLY rather watch re-runs than seeing the NEW LOONETTE.

My husband and I thought the old loonette might have been pregnant. The colour of her outfit was a much brighter red closer to the end.

I believe the actress playing the new Loonette is theater trained. That's probably why she seems "fakey". I say give her a chance. I actually like her. I think she does a good job.

What I have heard (from more than one source) is that Alyson Court is...uh, how to put delicately...rather difficult and that she was fired because no one would work with her on the show anymore. I was surprised to read the idea that she was fired for not being thin enough - she's not fat! She was hosting CBC Kids up until not too long ago and she looked just fine there. However, I understand she may have lost that job for being less than cooperative too. Divas in Canada - who'd have thought?

Whoops. I posted a couple of links to each of the Loonette's without makeup in my last post, but I guess I can't do that.

Sorry about that. But if anyone has the time to look it up, Alyson Court finished BCC in 2002 and has gone on to several more film and tv projects since.

    New Loonette?
My 3 year old has been enjoying (or should I say addicted to) "Big Comfy Couch" for about 6 months now. All of a sudden an anorexic, screechy voiced, arm flayling "Loonette" greeted her on TV. My daughter kept turning her "scrunched up" face my way as if to ask "what gives?". That was 3 weeks ago. She still yells out "Molly" or "Who made this mess?" but I haven't heard her say "Loonette" to the new one yet, go figure. Maybe we should give the "New" one a chance to get into the character but as far as my daughter goes I think the next time "Loonette" goes to "Clown Town" Granny and Bedhead should dump her there.
We attended the "Live" one and a half hour show at UBC in Vancouver yesterday and even though they weren't the same actors as on TV, at least this "Loonette" was closer to "Alyson Court". Try wikipedia.org/wiki/Alyson_Court for a great Bio on her.

I met Alyson last September, and she is fat from fat. She is probably five feet even and in great shape.

She wasn't a demanding person at all.
