When he was almost 3, he saw a Gahllager special on Tv. The next day, while I was doing laundry, my he wandered off into the kitchen, where he found a watermelon my parents had sent for the kids. There was, unfortunatley, a hammer lying around as well, as one of the cupboards had just been repaired. Well, you can guess what happened next. I came into the kitchen and was horrified to see watermelon everywhere. It also doesn't help that I hate watermelon. It took me two hours to clean up the whole mess.

(I am not doing the study, just a participant) Also wanted to hear from parents whose kids may dislike being read to. We have a group meeting, we recieve free materials (books, activities, etc.) to enhance our child's love of learning, and we learn how to help ready our kids for school. My 4-year-old daughter, who was not nearly as advanced as my son when she was younger, has caught up big-time!!! When her vocabulary was tested, she knew the meanings of words that I didn't even realise she knew!!! We were also told that many kids in schools are now being refered to speech-language because even though their speech is fine, they have a limited vocab. For example, not knowing that the word "ill" could be used for "sick", and things of that nature. Reading, of course, increases vocab, and promotes strong writing skills. Even wordless books such as "Pancakes For Breakfast", by Tomie Depaola are great, because the child tells the story and you can do so much with it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Do your kids still have their tonsils?

My son does, but my daughter had to have hers out when she was 9...

She pointed out that I would be saving money as I already had bought the egg cartons and helping the enviroment by not desposing off the cartons in the trash. Although they would have gone into the compost bin.

She also suggested using the polystyrene meat trays as the water trays for standing by seedlings in.

So I was wondering what else we generally recycle and what we can re-use instead.
