    Ni Hao Kai-lan,

This sounds like a good show. English/Chinese bilingualism and Chinese culture. I'll try to watch this one .

It's a new show starting soon.

"Ni hao!" That means "hi" in Chinese--and that's how Kai-lan greets you every day! Kai-lan Chow is an exuberant Chinese-American preschooler, almost 6, who wants you to come play with her and her best friends.

Kai-lan's world is infused with Chinese culture and is brimming with magical sights and sounds, and everywhere you turn there's something amazing and beautiful to see. Along the way, she and her bilingual buddies speak in English and Chinese, but they always need kids' help to find creative solutions to the daily dilemmas that come their way!

I've heard about it somewhere before, maybe a magazine but I have never seen it. It does sound quite educational though. Sort of a chinese Dora

I'm under the impression it's a 20-25 min show and not a filler like DBF.

I missed it yesterday. DS, who's been ill, brought his pjs and diaper to me just before the show started.

By the time he was in bed, the girls had changed channel.

The concept it Dora, but in Mandarin. My daughters happen to be Chinese and we have been waiting for this show for over a year, since it was first announced for development on nick Jr. in the USA.

I sincerely hope it becomes popular and that some of the merchandising we saw with Dora follow with Kai-Lan, since it would be great to have some merchandise my daughters can relate to.

My 3yrs old DD just watched this and she loved it! Its really cute and I like that it shows a different culture. Like Dora it teaches chinese words, not that she will ever use it but its still fun to use it sometimes, like Ni hao. REally cute and it will be watched often. Hopefully this one stays on long.

It's a great show. My son loves it, except that there have only been two episodes that have aired in the four different times it's been on to date.

Phonetically, it's Nee How, Ky Lan.

The girls keep asking me if we can go to our local Chinese restaurant, just so they can say " Ni Hao".
