angelrudymama:I feel I must re-iterate here that from reading the posts I believe the parents are just trying to voice the concerns of the children missing the shows they really love.
I agree with you here.
angelrudymama:
But the fact that parents sit and watch the shows with their kids and realize that some of these shows have very little educational value makes me respect their opinions all the more.
So you do not respect opinions that disagree with yours? I've watched these shows and find very little wrong with any of them.
angelrudymama:
I don't think any of these parents are hoping the tv educates their child or replaces other things in life but if everyone has an active toddler like I do - they do need some downtime and treehouse is part of an enjoyable schedule for them.
Indeed I don't expect the tv to educate my children any more than I expect it to educate me. However if I'm able to watch shows with no values other than the ones I endow it with so should my children.
I
would never call for the removal of shows I don't like. A good job too as there would be a lot less "talent" shows on and I believe some people like them.
angelrudymama:
Lately, my son has not watched treehouse at all in the evenings, I have had to get him DVDs of Toopy and Binoo and Max and Ruby - all sold by Treehouse interestingly!!! So he can watch that at night.
Bolding mine. As Treehouse( Corus) spent the money amking the programmes, they are entitled to sell them. Would you feel less offended buying
Dora form Nickelodeon?
angelrudymama:
The only thing he will watch on Treehouse at night is The Wiggles and Wonderpets and that's only if by chance the station gets turned on anymore as my son who is barely three will turn it off when shows like Go Gabba come on.
The fact you still don't know the name of the show you hate is somewhat surprising!
