I am just guessing that the outfits in question belong to the 'move it' team in blue. Yes they are lycra and tight but nothing different than you see in ice skating, gymnastics etc. I certainly don't think that my daugther is looking at these men in any way weird or wrong! If I am wrong about the outfits this person was referring to then I am sorry for budding in where I do not belong!

I agree with Autumnbrooke, I don't see the difference in what they wear on the show and what atheletes wear. I think they look silly but I am not offended by what they are wearing.

I agree, they are a bit much. If the girls are wearing skirts, surely the guys can put on some shorts?

Again I find myself astounded by some peoples negative narrow minded views. It is all on how you are percieving this as a parent and you are teaching your child that something is wrong about spandex. I agree it isn't the most flattering of clothes but in sports and ballet it is quite common and practical. I don't really understand the issue about it and if they are brave enough to wear it then all the power to them! I'm not meaning to totally dismiss your opinion as you are entitled to it but I just thought I would share my own as we are big Four Square fans and we like it just as it is!

My son is five and he loves this show, he gets up and does the actions with the characters and tries to sing along too.

As far as the men's costumes, my opinion is that we should teach children that there is nothing wrong or gross or bad about our bodies and no one should be ashamed of them.

I agree with you Candice. We have to remember this is a innocent child's show...

My son loves 4 Squares. He sits quietly and watches every segment carefully. The move it team are his fav he just calls them "Guys".I don't have any problems with the outfits at all. Everything is covered which it more than can be said for an average day strolling through the mall lately.

Yes, I was refering to the "Move it" team in blue.

On one particular day, I found their routine very offensive, coupled with the outfits that the men were wearing, I was prompted to write.

Candice33, my view is not negative narrow minded, I understand that there is nothing wrong with spandex, but my child does not watch sports or ballet, she watches Treehouse, where she is being exposed to this. I do not appreciate being told that I am percieving things wrong as a parent, and I definaltley don't apprecite being told that I am teaching my child wrong about something so minuscule (ie spandex). Who cares? It's spandex, and I don't think men should be wearing such clingly clothing.

I have no issues with the other 3 groups, cause they are sensable enough to wear proper clothing when performing for children.

I am not a fan much a fan of men wearing tights or "clingy clothing" myself but there is nothing wrong with it. Men wear spandex in sports and ballet (as mentioned by a few others). The only peice of spandex I really have a problem with is the bathing suits..yucky .

I do not feel that our children are being "exposed" to perverted men. Wearing spandex is not improper when performing for children, in my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And as this is a board with many differing views and opinions I think on these type of topics everyone should expect to have someone at some point disagree with thier opinion. That is the way this works.

Disagree fine, but don't tell me that I am teaching my children to be ashamed of their bodies, or that I am narrow minded.

Sorry that your upset. I don't think anyone said your teaching your child to be ashamed of their bodies. You didn't have to be called narrow-minded. I don't think any were meant to be intential personal shots against you.

Everyone is different and what is offending, mean, or rude to some isn't to others, as I've discovered. Compared to some posting I've seen in the past .... everyone who posted here were still polite. If something said is really bothering you then you need to talk to treeDaisy as she is a moderator on the boards.

Wow!! I am really sorry Mariaa if I hurt your feelings in any way! That was not my intention what so ever and I am usually one of the ones who stands up for others when this happens. So I feel awful if my comment /opinion is the one creating the big issue here. I apologize sincerely!!!

All I was trying to do was give my own opinion which I'm sure you and everyone else knows that not everyone is going to share the same views and that is part of the intrigue to this whole process is to read such a wide spectrum of opinions and thoughts.

I know you must be a great Mom, because you care so much about this trivial issue and to restate your point and feelings involved just shows the passion you must have . As a parent you have the right to teach whatever you like and I apologize if the Narrow minded part offended you but I was using it in a generic matter as there have been many negative topics posted and I just get frustrated with all the negativity which I guess then in turn created it myself. Hope this helps somewhat! I will yry to avid commenting on your stuff in future if that is what you would like. P.S> Ireally am a nice person!!!
