We're Obsessed! The Cutest Wooden Spoon Craft
All hail the mighty spoon puppet!
Not only will your child have a blast creating these utensil-like characters, they’ll adore playing with them, too. By using inexpensive craft items, some paint and dash of imagination, you can take simple, boring wooden spoons and give them their own distinctive personalities.
Once the paint has set, try putting on a show. You can make your own puppet theatre out of a cardboard box, or just turn a living room chair or couch into an instant stage by crouching behind it.
Treehouse tip: Feeling ultra-creative? Create spoon characters for your favourite fairy tales or Treehouse shows and act them out!
Masking tape (optional)
1. Paint the spoons using the paintbrushes. Brush on stripes and polka dots to create some fun looks. You can use the masking tape to tape off areas that you want to have straight lines. We decided to go free form for ours.
2. Draw on the face on the wide end of the spoon using a marker. An adult can help with this step.
3. Add ribbon bows for a cute little detail.
