Leftover smoothie ingredients? Kids will fly to the breakfast table for this beautiful butterfly! Serve it with a smoothie or alternate protein source for a nutritionally balanced meal.
3 slices of an orange (mandarin, tangerine or clementine, if possible)
A handful or raspberries or cranberries
1. Slice banana and kiwi into rounds, and peel a mandarin or tangerine orange (regular size oranges will work, too). Slice kiwi rounds in half.
2. Alternate placing down the centre of the plate kiwi and banana rounds to form the butterfly's head, thorax and abdomen. (See, now you can teach the parts of a butterfly too!)
3. Arrange halved kiwi rounds to form wings. Mound orange segments on top. Place one raspberry or cranberry in the centre of each.
4. Slice two slender threads of orange rind for antennae.
