He tries to impress her by sneaking out of the Cozy Hole and showing her Sunny Patch after dark. But the sleepy little town can’t compete with the big city. To add to Squirt’s embarrassment he gets caught being out at night without his parent’s permission. He learns that every place is special in its own way.

    Star Fell on Sunny Patch

Uncle Gus and Miss Spider are giving the kids a star-gazing lesson, when they spy an extra twinkly star. Uncle Gus tells the impressionable kids it’s a wishing star. Squirt excitedly lists all the toys and treats he wishes he had. Suddenly a shooting star streaks across the sky. Uh-oh. Has Squirt over-wished the star right out of the sky? Next day the kids stumble across a shiny bottle cap and think it’s the fallen star. Their many attempts to hoist, fly and slingshot it back into the sky all fail. Squirt’s brothers and sisters make him feel like it’s his fault. So Squirt makes one last wish. That they all can be friends again. When Miss Spider and Gus explain that you can’t wish a star out of the sky, the kids make up with their brother. Guess Squirt’s wish really did come true!

    A Little Slow

When Squirt invites Shelley the snail on a bug scout nature hike, it slows the group down. Especially frustrated is the hyper-active Dragon. Soon he and the other bugs race far ahead of Shelley, Squirt and Miss Spider. Dragon and siblings are in such a hurry, they don’t pay attention to the natural landmarks around them and wind up getting lost in the scary Snakey Woods. By the time Miss Spider, Squirt and Shelley find them it’s dark. Fortunately, slow-moving Shelley notices the one thing that’ll lead them home – his snail trail that gleams in the moonlight

Holley and Miss Spider are afraid that Bounce and Shimmer have been taken, but it turns out that beans do have special powers after all. After leading Bounce and Squirt on a wild chase through Sunny Patch, Taddy Puddle and the Snakey Woods, the bugs discover that they’ve traded for Mexican Jumping Beans. The little beans actually have a little moth inside of them. The Spider family reunites the Moths with their Uncle and enjoy a genuine Mexican Jumping Bean fiesta.

    Family Circus

There’s a flea circus in Sunny Patch and the kids really want to go. However, they have been having a little bit of trouble getting along, so Holley and Miss Spider insist that they work their way up the “wishing web” if they want to catch the show. Shimmer, Pansy, Snowdrop, Wiggle and Spinner get to the top of the web with relative ease. Squirt, Bounce and Dragon have a harder time. When Squirt accidentally unravels Miss Spider’s weaving, it looks they’ll never get to the circus, but Bounce, Dragon and Squirt stick together and finally get their wish.

    Eight Is Not Enough

The Cosy Hole is abuzz! Each of the kids has something important to do today. Whether it’s Bounce’s first track meet or sailing on the Taddy Puddle, Miss Spider and Holley have their hands full! So when Holley takes a tumble, throwing out his cephalothorax, it’s up to Miss Spider to juggle everything -- a feat even for someone as multi-dexterous as a spider! With Bounce attached to several of her legs, terrified for his first big race, Miss Spider manages to drop each of the kids off so that they can sail, surf, play and run. However, Miss Spider eventually learns that no matter how much she wants to, she can’t be eight different places at once, and that eight hands aren’t always enough!

    The Marin Rose

Miss Spider reads the children a bedtime story. In it, a bored King sends his Knights to bring back the mythical Marin Rose. The brave Knights, knowing the flower will die if picked, return with a dead stalk instead. When the King realizes how thoughtless his command was, the Knights bring him to visit the still-growing Rose. The next day, Shimmer catches Spiderus about to pick a rose for Spindella. Shimmer convinces him to give Spindella a gift of seeds for growing roses instead.

    A Sticky Situation

There is a honey shortage in Sunny Patch. When Ned and Ted, the ant brothers come knocking at the Cozy Hole to borrow some honey, Squirt and Bounce tell Miss Spider not to give them their last bit of honey. Miss Spider generously gives it to them anyway. They promise to return the favor once they find the “golden treasure.” Apparently there is an abandoned honeycomb somewhere in Sunny Patch. Squirt and Bounce take off on a treasure hunt that leads them to the big pine on the edge of the meadow. There they come across Spiderus who is stuck in pinesap. He begs them to help him; otherwise he’ll end up being stuck forever in fossilized amber. Although Bounce wants to keep looking for the treasure, Squirt convinces him that they have to be good to all bugs. Even Spiderus. The kids give up their dream of finding the treasure to help Spiderus. They get Dragon, Shimmer and Miss Spider to help. With some bug ingenuity and a little witch hazel to dissolve the pine pitch, they pull Spiderus out. After they get him out, Squirt and his family find out that Spiderus knew where the treasure was all along. He agrees to give them half—the smaller half.

    Happy Heartwood Day

The wind is raging outside, but everyone’s snug as a bug in the Cozy Hole. Everyone except Dragon and Squirt who are bickering over Dragon’s favorite toy -- when suddenly there’s an enormous T-H-U-M-P! from outside. The startled bugs venture out to see the wind has taken down a tree! There are cheers all around. “Happy Heartwood Day!” Miss Spider explains to the kids that when a tree falls the bugs spend the day celebrating all living things. It’s a day to show how much you care -- followed by a bug boogying, gift-sharing shindig. However, with seven brothers and sisters, Dragon’s tired of sharing. He’d rather keep his Heartwood Day cookies and decorations for himself. That is, until he arrives at the party empty-handed. Unable to take part in the celebrations, Dragon realizes what it means to share and gives Squirt the one thing he’s brought -- his favorite toy.

    Ground House Rules

When the Cozy Hole gets a little too crowded with rambunctious bugs, Miss Spider and Holley decide their kids need the Sunny Patch equivalent of a treehouse – a groundhouse! They help the kids dig a burrow at the base of the Hollow Tree. At first it becomes the gathering spot for all the neighbourhood kids. But cranky neighbour, Spiderus, gets tired of the racket and convinces Dragon that a club isn’t special unless you keep out everybuggy but the best bugs. Dragon takes this bad advice to heart and winds up making so many rules he excludes everybody from the groundhouse but himself. Miss Spider explains that you don’t make a club special by who you keep out, but by who you let in. Dragon invites all the kids back. And soon it’s kid party-central again, much to Spiderus’ chagrin.

    Fly Away Friends

Squirt and Shimmer always have fun on their walks to school together. But one day Dragon flies up to tell Shimmer about some tasty rose hips he spotted high upon a bush. The Dragon and flying beetle fly off to check it out, leaving the ground-bound Squirt below. Squirt becomes super sensitive to all the things that the flying bugs can do and he can’t. When Miss Spider takes the kids on a playground outing, it seems like all the games Shimmer and Dragon want to play involve flying. Squirt throws a tantrum and runs off. Miss Spider explains what happened to the puzzled Shimmer and Dragon, and the two bugs fly off to find their brother hiding in a flower. After a round of “We’re sorrys”, the three friends find some games they can all play together.

    Bedtime Story

The bed time routine in the Spider house is just taking too long. Miss Spider and Holley break out the wishing web to help their little Spiders get to bed on time. The web works wonders with everyone except Squirt - and Mom and Dad! When the Spider parents oversleep Bounce suggests they could use a wishing web of their own. Miss Spider figures turnabout is fair play. The Spider kids have to help their parents get up the web and earn a well-deserved morning to sleep in. 10A - SING IT, SISTER Pansy’s lifelong dream is to sing with the Dribbly Dell Singers. Unfortunately, she’s not a very good singer and not that interested in practicing, either. On the other hand, her twin sis, Snowdrop, has a beautiful voice but is too shy to go up on stage and sing in front of other bugs. On the day of the chorus auditions, Pansy forgets the lyrics. Snowdrop tries to help her sister out by singing along with her and winds up winning the solo slot in the chorus. Pansy’s feelings are hurt. But on the night of the big concert, Snowdrop gets a bad case of stage fright. So Pansy overcomes her jealousy to help her sister go up on stage, and the two wind up singing a beautiful duet together.

    Ant-tuition

All the good folks in Sunny Patch are getting ready for cold weather. They collect seeds and get their little homes ready. Squirt is none too happy about having to work, when the weather is still so nice and there is still so much fun to be had in the sun. Miss Spider tells them he can play once all their work is done. It’s better to be prepared. When the ant brothers, Ned and Ted tell everyone including Squirt they have a hunch that cold weather is a long way off, everyone quits working. Ted and Ned are so sure their “ant-tuition” is right they throw a party. All of Sunny Patch goes to have one last summer hurrah except Holley and Miss Spider. When Squirt asks why they are not going, they tell him that regardless off when the cold weather is coming it’s best to do their work now so they’ll be sure to be ready. They don’t believe in the ant brothers’ ant-tuition. A hunch is never a safe bet. Holley and Miss Spider take Squirt on a little walk to show him the signs that cold weather is on its way. The bushes are laden with berries. The frogs have already hibernated. Squirt is convinced. He convinces his brothers and sisters too and the spider family gets their food stores ready. Much to Squirt’s surprise, Petal not only turns out to be a great web-surfer – she doesn’t really want to surf with Squirt, especially after he suggests that she is a “show off”. Some friendly competitive dandelion-busting helps bring the bugs together and by the time Petal has to leave, the two spiders are nearly inseparable.

    Secret Frog

Squirt, Shimmer and Spinner are playing in the Taddy Puddle when they come across Felix the frog – a sweet natured amphibian who’s tongue challenged. When the little bugs take pity on him and untangle his tongue from a cattail, they discover Felix, unlike other frogs, isn’t a bug eater. The bugs and frog become instant playmates. Meanwhile, Dragon, Bounce and Pansy are looking for a little adventure since their regular bug games, like dew drop dodgeball, just don’t seem as fun as they used to. So when Spiderus shows up with news of a scary frog sighting near the Taddy Puddle, Dragon convinces Pansy and Bounce to join the Sunny Patch Anti-Frog Squad. Squirt, Shimmer and Spinner realize they must keep their new froggy friend a secret. Unfortunately, Spiderus spots Felix from his watchtower and rallies his Anti-Frog Squad along with other Sunny Patchers to dispatch the green menace. Squirt and the bug pack have to work together to disguise Felix as a funny-looking bush – and Spiderus is left embarrassed when the other bugs think he was just seeing things.

    The Big Green Bug

It’s ‘Be Good to Bugs Day’ in Sunny Patch! Everybuggy is counting down the minutes to the ‘Be Good to Bugs Day’ fair -- but what the Spider kids are really excited for this morning is going to meet their secret frog friend Felix! With Spiderus’s bumbling Anti-Frog Squad in full force, the kids have great fun trying to hide their amphibian amigo. Now if only they could hide the fact that Felix is a big green frog so he could join them at the fair! With a little imagination and a disguise that stumps even Spiderus -- they turn Felix into a big green bug! However, there’s no fooling Miss Spider. With Felix waiting for his pals in the meadow, the ‘Be Good to Bugs Day’ party is in full swing when Felix’s parents -- two very frightening frogs looking for their son, suddenly interrupt it. Felix is finally found and frog-walked back to the Taddy Puddle, but not before a huge storm sends him rushing back to rescue his friends from the rising water. With it too dark to return home, Felix becomes an honorary bug and spends the night snug with his best bug buddies in the Cozy Hole.

Be Good to Bugs... and Frogs

After a sleepover in the Cozy Hole with his new, buggy best friends, Felix the frog decides he doesn’t want to go home. He’d rather stay with Miss Spider and family and be a bug. When Miss Spider tries to convince the little frog that his mom and dad miss him back at the Taddy Puddle, Felix disagrees. He tells Miss Spider his parents don’t understand him because he’s not like other frogs: He eats berries, can’t hop so hot, and his tongue has terrible aim. Touched, Miss Spider decides to take a trip to the Taddy Puddle for a bug to frog chat with his parents. Unfortunately, when Frank the near-sighted firefly sees Miss Spider with Mrs. Frog, he alerts Spiderus, who panics and raises the alarm to rescue her. As an army of agitated bugs faces off against Felix’s parents, Miss Spider is caught in the middle trying to calm everybuggy/froggy down. But it’s too late - as Spiderus finds himself on a lily pad within tongue range of the angered frogs. Felix to the rescue! The bug pack helps him aim his tongue, and the little frog rescues Spiderus in the nick of time. With the misunderstanding resolved, the frog family become the guests of honour at the Be Good To Bugs and Frogs Day fair.
