Timothy Goes to School

1A: Timothy Goes to School
Timothy is very excited about his first day of school. But when new classmate Claude tells him he’s wearing “the wrong” clothes, Timothy feels embarrassed. He spends several days trying to impress Claude and become his friend. Meanwhile, Yoko has been trying to catch Timothy’s attention to befriend him. When Yoko, who accepts Timothy as he is, assures him not to care so much about what Claude thinks, it is the start of a beautiful friendship.

1B: Yoko
Yoko is treated like somewhat of an outcast because of her different, foreign-style lunches. When Mrs. Jenkins senses Yoko’s discomfort, she arranges an International Food Day where everyone is asked to bring in a different dish, and Yoko’s sushi becomes a big hit with Timothy.


2A: On The Fritz
All of Fritz’s messes conveniently get blamed on the Mess Fairy. This arrangement works out great for Fritz until he accidentally splatters paint on Timothy’s treasured collection of shells. Fritz feels bad and decides it’s time that he begins to own up to all the messes he has caused and pledges do his very best to clean them up.

2B: The Great Obstacle Course
The children enjoy a day of games and races at the school picnic. No one cares if they win or lose. No one except Claude and Grace. They have to win every time. Until the last Obstacle Race. Everyone’s a winner in this event. Everyone has fun. Everyone that is, except Claude and Grace. They just don’t get it.


3A: Small Change
Nora doesn’t like change. Today, everything is changing, her favorite shirt, her favorite breakfast, even Dad is repainting her room. Thankfully at Hilltop, nothing changes. However, when a surprise game of musical tables forces Nora to change her seat and sit next to Lilly, she learns new and interesting things, and begins to embrace change.

3B: Shy Charles
When it becomes clear that Charles enjoys spending time alone, he develops a reputation for being shy and nobody wants to play with him. He proves his classmates wrong however, when Timothy gets locked in the janitorial closet, and it is Charles who sounds the alarm and informs the teachers of the emergency, thereby saving the day.


4A: Don’t Lose It Lilly
Lilly loses everything, her pencil, her lunchbox, her scarf. Luckily, her friends at Hilltop rally around her and help her discover new ways of remembering things.

4B: Frankless Frank
The Franks do everything together. When Frank One gets sick, Frank Two has to cope with his absence at school. At first Frank Two is uncomfortable without his brother, but as he gradually learns to do things without him and realizes he can have fun on his own as well.

 


5A: Paint By Numbers
Doris gets embarrassed when she paints a somewhat abstract picture in class and it doesn’t look like anyone else’s. Luckily she feels better when Mrs. Jenkins takes the children to a museum and Doris sees other abstract paintings that look just like hers.

5B: The Sleepover
Timothy is worried the Franks will think he is a baby if they find out he sleeps with a stuffed animal named Pingy. During a sleepover, Timothy does everything he can to hide Pingy, but is immensely relieved to find out that the Franks sleep with a stuffed animal as well.

 


6A: The Music Tree
Yoko plays her violin beautifully at home, but when the class builds a music tree for a school concert and Mrs. Jenkins suggests Yoko plays her violin at it, she develops stage fright. Thankfully, with the encouragement of her Mother and her classmates, Yoko overcomes her fear and leads the class through a beautiful spring symphony.

6B: Team Project
Timothy chooses Claude over Yoko in a team project because he thinks Claude will help him win a special prize. However, Claude doesn’t let Timothy do any of the work and in the end, even though they win the prize, Timothy realizes he would have had much more fun partnered with Yoko.


7A: Cherry Blossom
Yoko chooses to plant a cherry blossom tree for her spring project but becomes discouraged when her classmates finish their projects before her tree has even begun to grow. Just as she is about to give up, Timothy reminds her how hard she has worked and convinces her to give it another chance.

7B: Talent Show
Grace wants to be the star of the Hilltop Talent Show. However, she is devastated when she hurts her ankle before the big event. Fortunately it turns out to be an excellent opportunity for her to discover that she can still make a valuable contribution by making the show run smoothly, as the director.


8A: Scary Monsters
Nora’s fear of big and scary prehistoric creatures is heightened when the class makes preparations to go to a dinosaur museum. Luckily, Timothy recognizes Nora’s apprehension, and figures out a way to make the museum trip more fun and show her that dinosaurs aren’t such scary monsters after all.

8B: Lifesaver Lilly
Lilly’s reputation for forgetfulness prevents her from being chosen to look after the class fish. She proves everyone wrong however, when in the end she saves the fish’s life.


9A: Red Thunder
After Timothy and his bike ‘Red Thunder’ win best all around bikemanship in the Bicycle Fun and Safety day at Hilltop, Timothy begins to believe he is a much more advanced cyclist than he is and feels he can do tricks that bigger kids can. However, when he tries to jump a ramp at the Frank’s place and fails miserably, he realizes that perhaps he isn’t as grown up or advanced as he originally anticipated.

9B: Putting It All Together
It’s puzzle day at Hilltop School, and there’s a special surprise in store if the kids find all the pieces of a big puzzle, and put it all together - before lunchtime. At first the kids try to work individually, and not much gets accomplished. When Timothy realizes that time is running out, he suggests they all work together to finish the puzzle in time. Their team efforts prove fruitful and they discover that the finished puzzle is a picture of a big picnic lunch - just like the real one Mrs. Jenkins has laid out for the kids as the surprise.


10A: The Big Snowfall
Doris is in her element after a big snowfall and offers to be Lilly’s snow-buddy since Lilly has never experienced winter before. When Doris wanders off to take part in a toboggan race, Lilly is left on her own to venture through the snow by herself. While trying to find Doris, she meets all of her other classmates, who show her fun and exciting things to do in the winter wonderland. When the two girls finally reconnect, Doris reveals how terribly guilty she feels about leaving Lilly on snow day, but Lilly doesn’t mind - she has practically become a snow day veteran on her own.

10B: Forever Friends
Timothy’s treasured friendship with Yoko becomes strained when Yoko begins rehearsing for a dance recital and has no time left for Timothy. Timothy is suddenly forced to find new ways to fill his time without his best friend. When Timothy succeeds in discovering interesting ways to occupy himself, it is Yoko who now feels left out. In the end, however, the two discover that their absence in each other’s life only serves to strengthen their friendship.


11A: Taking The Plunge
Timothy finds it odd that Claude continues to make excuses for not taking the plunge during Swim Day at Hilltop School. However, it all becomes clear when Claude admits to Timothy that he is not very good at the sport, so Timothy takes it upon himself to teach Claude how to swim.

11B: Timothy’s Way
Timothy becomes anxious when he can’t come up with a subject to teach everyone for a class exercise. The pressure mounts when all the other kids seem to be able to choose something with ease. Fortunately, while playing marbles with the other kids at recess, Timothy realizes that this is the very thing he can teach to the others.


12A: The Treefort & The Sandcastle
The kids decide to separate themselves into a “boys only” Tree Fort Club and a “girls only” Sand Castle Club. After the novelty wears off, Timothy and Doris break the boredom by playing soccer together again. The other kids realize that it is just as much fun for boys and girls to play together as it is for them to play apart.

12B: Get Well Soon
Everyone loves Mrs. Jenkins, so when she hurts her arm and is forced to miss school, they all decide to make her a get well card. That is, everyone except for Fritz. He decides to collect worms, bugs and leftovers for his teacher instead, much to his classmate’s surprise. In the end, it becomes clear that the scraps he has amassed are for a bird feeder he has made for Mrs. Jenkins so she can watch the birds while she rests.


13A: In The Spotlight
Charles is too shy for his ‘In the Spotlight’ presentation about leaves, so he tries to put it off. Timothy attempts to help him overcome his fear of talking in front of people, but Charles has a better idea - he’ll get Timothy to talk for him. However, during the actual presentation, Charles gets so caught up correcting Timothy’s translation that he forgets about his shyness and does the presentation on his own.

13B: Fritz On The Move
Timothy feels his friendship with Fritz is going to be jeopardized after Fritz announces he is moving away. At first Timothy is devastated by the news, but gradually learns how to say goodbye and, in the end, both boys realize that a long distance relationship can be equally as enriching.


14A: Many Happy Returns
Everyone is happy to be returning to Mrs. Jenkins’ class after a school break, but Timothy is having trouble adjusting to life at Hilltop School without his friend Fritz. Since Fritz moved away, the two friends have been sending mail to each other, and in his last letter to Timothy, Fritz wrote that a surprise was on the way. Timothy and his classmates are very excited when they find out what that surprise is.

14B: You’re Invited
Everyone in Mrs. Jenkins’ class received an invitation to Lilly’s party - everyone except Doris. She can’t understand it - hasn’t she always been a good friend to Lilly? After Doris is reminded of the times she treated Lilly unkindly, she’s determined to redeem herself and be the best friend that Lilly has ever had. When all of Doris’ attempts at this fail, she goes home feeling dejected. Much to Doris’ surprise and delight, her mother has found a party invitation near the mailbox.


15A: The Greatest
Nora proclaims Timothy is “the greatest” when he recaptures her pet lizard Norman, after its big escape. Timothy enjoys being the object of Nora’s admiration until she starts relying too much on his help for every little thing. When Norman escapes again, Timothy desperately hopes that someone else will rescue the lizard and take over the title of “the greatest”.

15B: Rocky Friendship
The discovery of an interesting rock in the schoolyard causes a dispute between Fritz and Charles over who will assume its ownership. Timothy finds himself in a real dilemma after being asked to settle the squabble by deciding which friend should keep the rock. Timothy comes to realize that there are some problems you can’t solve all by yourself.


16A: Two For Tea
Yoko’s mother is coming to Hilltop School to perform a Japanese Tea Ceremony for “In the Spotlight.” Yoko happily accepts Nora’s help with all the preparations for the big event. A clash of cultures develops when Nora tries to infuse the sacred rituals of a Japanese Tea Ceremony with the fun and games of a home-style tea party.

16B: Abracadabra
Fritz has learned a new magic trick and reveals the secret behind the illusion to his good friend Timothy. When Grace starts performing the trick for her classmates, Fritz is furious, presuming that Timothy blabbed! Timothy denies the accusation and a rift develops between the two boys that can only be mended if Grace comes forward and confesses how she learned the magic trick.


17A: The Taketombo
Yoko takes a Japanese flying toy called a taketombo to school to show her classmates. But before her presentation, the Franks’ errant football breaks it to pieces. The Franks are truly sorry about the mishap and want to show Yoko that they care about her feelings. In the end they learn that there is more than one way to take responsibility for their actions.

17B: Having A Wonderful Time
Everyone is excited about the field trip to Hilltop Park and when Mrs. Jenkins tells the class to buddy-up, Lilly and Grace choose each other as partners. The two girls may have dissimilar interests, but that doesn’t stop them from having a wonderful day together.


18A: The Shutterbug
Wanting to become an avid photographer like his dad, Timothy borrows the family camera and tries to capture all of his Hilltop friends on film. When they don’t turn out the way he had expected, Timothy is reluctant to show anyone his pictures. After some coaxing, Timothy presents his photos, and much to his surprise, everyone likes them and sees things in his pictures that he hadn’t noticed himself.

18B: The Friendship Stone
Lilly and Nora exchange a lucky penny and a pretty stone as a token of their friendship. After Lilly loses the special stone, she’s worried that Nora will be upset and no longer want to be her friend. In the end, Nora’s not pleased that Lilly lost the special stone, but reassures Lilly that she’ll always be her friend...no matter what.


19A: New Found Franks
The Franks always do everything together, but when Fritz invites them to fly a kite and Timothy asks them to play basketball, the inseparable brothers can’t decide with whom they’d rather play. When the twins decide to split up, they discover that doing things as individuals’ means they have more things to share when they get back together.

19B: When I Grow Up
When Mrs. Jenkins invites the class to think about what they’d like to do when they grow up, Yoko is quick to tell everyone that she wants to become a violinist. Through the course of helping others imagine what they would like to be, her interest in teaching grows, leaving her unsure as to what path she should choose. Gentle encouragement from her mother and Mrs. Jenkins helps Yoko learn that she can have more than one aspiration.


20A: The School Play
Mrs. Jenkins’ class is performing a play about taking care of teeth and Yoko has the misfortune of being cast as the villain - the cavity! When Yoko realizes she can offer something unique to the role, her special violin sound effects become the highlight of the show.

20B: Full Of Beans
The Franks take great pleasure in making everyone laugh with their funny jokes and zany antics, but they pull some pranks that go too far and their classmates are no longer amused. When it’s time for the big square dance to begin, the Franks can’t find anyone willing to be their partners - including each other. Longing to take part in all the fun, the two brothers apologize to everyone for their behaviour and join the dance.

 


21A: Read Me A Story
Nora fears that her beloved story time with Mom will become a thing of the past when her mother says she’ll soon be able to read all by herself. Nora becomes disenchanted with all of the school activities that promote reading skills, including a first trip to the library to borrow her own library books. Nora’s concerns are put to rest when she learns that her mother loves reading her stories - and always will.

21B : The Gift
At her mother’s encouragement, Nora proceeds to make a special homemade birthday gift for her friend Yoko. After Nora hears about the great gifts that her friends bought for Yoko, she fears that her birthday present is no longer special enough. Nora is in for a wonderful surprise when she finds out that Yoko not only thinks her present is special, but also it’s something she’s wanted for quite some time.


22A: Measuring Up
Charles’ mom and dad tell him how much he’s growing, and he can’t wait to get to school to share the big news with his friends. When Mrs. Jenkins’ students display full-size cut-outs of themselves, it’s clear that Charles is the smallest in the class. Charles soon learns that “smallest” is a relative term when Doris, the biggest in the class, shares her woes of being the smallest in her family.

22B: Lost And Found
Yoko is granted permission from her mother to take a cherished set of Japanese figurines to school for Show & Share, on the condition that she take very good care of them. When the special carvings mysteriously disappear, Mrs. Jenkins announces a special lost and found day to look for them. Many lost items are recovered, but sadly, Yoko’s figurines are not among them. Seeing how hurt Yoko is prompts the return of the figurines with an apology.


23A: Professor Fritz
Mrs. Jenkins’ students are making science projects to display at Hilltop School’s open house and Fritz, the class inventor, is going to impress everyone with his rocket ship. When a test flight goes haywire in front of the entire class, Fritz feels humiliated and abandons his experiment. With some encouragement from his friends, the budding scientist finds the confidence to go back to the drawing board.

23B: Two Tutu Friends
Doris is inspired to take ballet lessons after watching Grace dance in front of the class. A growing friendship between the two girls comes to an abrupt end when Doris embarrasses Grace by telling their school friends about an amusing mishap in dance class. Both girls discover that dance class isn’t as much fun without each other’s friendship.


24A: My Family
Jack is a happy baby that does all the things that normal babies do. But in Nora’s eyes, he’s a messy little brother who takes things and breaks them. She becomes so tired of Jack that she excludes him from the school painting project she’s done of her family. Nora has a change of heart when she discovers what a fun and special playmate Jack can be.

24B: Just In Time
Henry’s discovery of a twenty-five year old time capsule in the school attic inspires Mrs. Jenkins’ class to make one of their own. Lilly decides to offer her favourite doll, but has second thoughts after the time capsule has been sealed and stowed in the school attic for the next generation. When Henry notices that Lilly is feeling sad, he retrieves the time capsule and allows her to switch the real doll, with a painting of it, assuring her that it’s just as special a contribution.

 


25A: Charles The Athlete
The Franks can’t help noticing that Charles finishes last place in every event for school sports day. They mistakenly think that Charles must feel bad about his athletic abilities and take it upon themselves to be his personal trainers. When they put him through a rigorous exercise program, Charles repeatedly wanders away. The Franks assume he’s discouraged about his progress, but Charles couldn’t be happier: he’s busy building a spaceship.

25B: Be My Valentine
Timothy has made a secret valentine for someone and so has Charles. Yoko and Lilly have also made secret valentines for their special friends. In a comedy of errors, no one receives the correct valentine and in order to sort things out, the secret identity of each of the senders has to be revealed.

 


26A: Mama Don’t Go
Juanita has just moved to the Hilltop community and is anxious about her first day at a new school. She feels much better when mama offers to accompany her to Mrs. Jenkins’ class. However, throughout the day, each time mama attempts to leave, Juanita is not ready for her to go yet. When it’s discovered that mama is celebrating a birthday, Juanita and the class want to give her a party. In the spirit of making it a surprise party, mama is allowed to leave - Juanita is finally able to let her go.

26B: Making New Friends
Juanita is ready for the adventure of her new kindergarten class, but she’s having difficulty finding her place with eleven classmates who already know each other. Mrs. Jenkins observes Juanita’s struggle and explains to her class that they are all crewmembers on the Friend Ship. Timothy volunteers to be the captain of this Friend Ship and helps Juanita make new friends.
